Would a breast lift be sufficient for my desired results or should I consider implants? Sagging after breastfeeding (photos)

Question

I am really wanting to have perky breasts again, but I’m scared my body will reject implants. After giving birth my breasts got really large but once I stopped breastfeeding they pretty much deflated. I think I have pseudoptosis but I’m not positive. I would like to know if it’d be reasonable for me to get a lift with no implants? Or would I need those too. I don’t necessarily want to be bigger at all, I just want the sagging to go away.

Hello @Exquisite970323, thank you for your question and showing your pictures. You may consider having a breast lift with an L-shaped scar. By doing this, you would improve the projection and the shape of the tissue, which will remain a similar size, but without the flaccidity that you are having now. Based on your photos, I believe you would achieve the best overall aesthetic by using implants. While a lift will place the nipple at a more favorable position, you will be lacking volume to the upper poles of the breast. Placing implants will create a more youthful, fuller appearing breast. I recommend speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon to discuss your options.

my preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.

Breast lift a great option for creating a perkier shape after the pregnancy and breast feeding have left a deflated or droopy shape. Implants are only required if you want to increase size. Breast lift alone can create a perkier look, decrease areola size, and improve nipple position for an excellent aesthetic.

The technique I recommend is a lift using The Bellesoma Method. This will reshape your breast tissue creating upper pole fullness without implants, elevate them higher on the chest wall and more medial to increase your cleavage. Vertical scars are avoided, nipple sensation (in 95%) and the ability to breast feed are maintained.

You definitely need a breast lift to elevate and reshape your breasts. However, to achieve fullness or perkiness you will need to have an implant placed at the same time. You should end up with a very nice result. Good luck.

You need a full lift done. I think you’ll be surprised how small you end up, which may be what you want. If an implant is used I would place it at a second stage.  Some surgeons would do it all in one stage

Thank you for your question. I’m brass left will give you perkier breasts. You would benefit from an animal augmentation mastopexy, where your own tissue is used to provide more fullness to the upper pole of your breast. This can be combined with some fat grafting to add volume should you so desire. Additionally a breast lift will work to improve the symmetry of your breasts. Good luck.

You do not have psuedoptosis, but full ptosis, and need a lift. If you want more volume, add implants.

If you are not interested in changing you breast size and only want a more lifted look, then a breast lift without implants is very reasonable to consider. A board certified/eligible plastic surgeon would be able to discuss with you in detail your goals and also what you could expect for your results. A lift will often move the nipple position more centrally on the breast mound and also tightens the skin around the breast tissue. While it does not make a significant difference in the upper part of the breasts, it does tend to give the breast a nicer more projected shape. If you want a mild improvement in the upper part of the breast you could also consider doing a small amount of fat transfer to that part of the breast, which is good for contour improvements, but would not significantly change the size of your chest. Obviously everything comes with it's own risks and benefits and you would want to have a detailed discussion with your preferred surgeon about what works well in their hands and the type of results to expect.
