Thank you for sharing your question and photographs and congratulations on your lip augmentation! Swelling after filler placement into the lips is quite common due to the thin nature of the tissues. This swelling, and your results, will steadily improve over the next 10-14 days. It often takes up to 2 weeks for fillers to soften and the tissues to appear more natural. In the meantime try reducing the swelling by using cold compresses to your lips and elevating your head at night with a couple of extra pillows behind your back. You may want to also consider using Arnica Montana and bromelain as supplements. Hang in there!
Hello and thanks for the question. It looks like your lips are still pretty swollen - the initial swelling typically lasts a few days. It is not uncommon to have lumps & bumps in the initial healing phase. Try to be patient - if you still have the asymmetrical swelling or any lumps after a week or two see your injector for a follow up. Good luck!Sincerely,Dr. Michelle Spring
Swelling is common after lip injections. It can persist up to two weeks. Gentle massage and icing the area the first couple of days after injection may help. If you are still experiencing concerns two weeks from the time of injection, contact your provider for an evaluation.
This looks like a recent injection. If this is not resolved or improved within 2 to 3 weeks, then see your injector. You might need a "touch up" procedure.Good luck,Dr. ALDO
As the other physicians commented, it takes a few weeks for any filler to settle and integrate into your tissues. During that time, your injector can massage out any lumps and adjust the shape of your lips but you also want to allow enough time for the swelling to resolve. If after 2 weeks you are still not happy, then the excess product can easily be dissolved. I hope that helps and wish you the very best!-Gregory A Buford MD FACSBoard Certified Plastic Surgeon and Author
There can be some swelling and/or lumps after lip injections which can last 1-2 weeks. You can apply firm pressure between two fingers on the lips for a few days, for 5 mins a time, in order to help decrease swelling and even out the lumps. If you're unhappy with your final results you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. Best, Dr. Emer
Thank you for your question and photos. You appear to have normal swelling after lip augmentation with Juvederm dermal filler. I would not be too concerned about any lumps and bumps at this time. Typically all bruising and swelling will have subsided within 2 weeks and you can then judge your final result. If at that time you are not happy, please return to the person who injected you and they can correct it. Hope this is helpful.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your photographs. Based on your photos, this appears to be a recent injection. Swelling is normal after treatment with Juvederm, especially when the lips are injected. Swelling can often cause the appearance of asymmetry or unwanted fullness. Please keep in mind that it will take 2 weeks to allow normal postprocedure swelling to fully resolve and to see your final result. If you continue to have any concerns at 2 weeks, then please be sure to see your injector for an in-person reevaluation in order to determine the best course of action. Hope this helps and best wishes!
Post injection swelling in the lips is very common. It's a sensitive area. It should resolve within the next two weeks. Massage the area gently and apply ice. This can help. Best of luck.
Good Afternoon and thank you for your question. It is important for you to wait the full 2 weeks to allow the product to settle before considering it your final result. In the meantime, you can do gentle massaging with one finger on each side of the lip (inside and out) to help decrease the swelling and smooth out the lumps. Once your final result is achieved you can discuss with your physician the option to use hyaluronidase or hylenex which is an enzyme the dissolves hyaluronic acid or to consider a touch up to even out the lips. Best of luck to you.
