How much more will my lips go down? It has been 9 days since Juvederm XC lip injections

I got lip injections (juvederm xc) about 9 days ago. I would say I liked them most on day 7, but they were kinda big. It seems like they are getting smaller everyday now and I don't want them to get any smaller :( How much more with my lips shrink, because at this point I am wondering if the procedure was a waste of money. Is there anyway for me to make sure they last longer and don't get smaller??? thanks.

I appreciate your concern. I would suggest you see your injector and compare your before and after photos around 2 to 3 weeks. This will give you the best idea about your long term results with Juvederm and lip augmentation.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Thank you for your question. Your lips will be quite swollen and plump in the early days after injection. Typically, you cannot judge the final result until about 2 weeks pot injection. If by 2 weeks you feel that they are not full enough, you may need more product or a different product that has more plumping ability.

I tell my patients that their lips are likely to be somewhat swollen for 10-14 days after injections.  I also always start conservatively.  I would much rather that a woman come back after about two weeks and we put in another 1/2 syringe or so than for her to be feeling as though I put too much in. If, after two weeks, you aren't happy with your results, I recommend following up with your provider.
