Tylenol 3 for FUE?

Question

I'm having FUE in March, and the doctor said he would prescribe Tylenol 3 only. I asked him if he could prescribe Percocet, and he said it's too strong. What happens if, during the procedure, the pain threshold is high? Can I take two Tylenol 3 pills instead of just one Tylenol 3 pill? Can I also take an Aleve with the Tylenol 3 pill if I still experience pain? I'm worried about the pain part.

It is best to ask your surgeon about post operative care as each doctor has their unique regimen.  Percocet requires a hand written prescription. It is up to the doctor's discretion on what medications are prescribed.

For FUE patients, usually plain Tylenol alternated with something like ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin) is enough to control pain.  In fact, a recent study showed that people who suffered broken arms and legs did just as well with Tylenol/ibuprofen as they did with narcotics.

The pain from an FUE hair transplant is fairly minimal. Tylenol 3 should work just fine. Follow the instructions provided from the doctor and you will be just fine.
