I'm not an excessive sweater, but antiperspirants would cause me extreme itching and irritation, so I did the treatment to no longer need antiperspirant. Now though, my armpits feel too dry. They stick to each other throughout the day and it is uncomfortable. I've tried a few natural deodorants that don't have antiperspirant, but they just make my armpits stick to my clothes. Can anyone suggest a product for this? I thought of maybe using baby powder, but that would be messy on my clothing.
Answer: Stickiness after MiraDry Thank you for your question, I agree with the other Doctors this is likely due to swelling post procedure and should resolve on its own within 3 weeks. You can try a little non oil based cream so that you don't stain your clothes, or baby powder before you get dressed. The vast majority of our Newport Beach miraDry® patients experience minimal downtime and return to their regular activities immediately following treatment. There can be swelling, minor bruising, and tenderness of the underarms, which should subside within a couple of weeks. We recommend avoiding strenuous activity requiring use of the arms until symptoms have resolved. Some patients have short-term altered sensation of the underarm skin or upper arms. This will gradually disappear. If any of these side effects occur, we recommend avoiding strenuous activities requiring use of your arms until they have subsided. In addition to getting rid of sweat and odor, miraDry® can also reduce hair growth under the arm.I hope this helps, good luck and be well.

Answer: I got miraDry treatment about a week ago, and am now looking for recommendations for underarm dryness after miraDry treatment. Congratulations on getting a nice dry result! That's really exciting to hear and similar to what I've experienced with my treatment. This is a temporary issue and is related to the swelling of the procedure. It will get better soon. In the meantime, I suggest a touch of baby powder.Best wishes, Dr. ALDO

Answer: Underarm dryness after miraDry You may want to consider a hypoallergenic lotion that is not oily. You will get used to the new dry sensation. Your underarms are likely still numb, which is the odd sensation you feel. You don't need to use deodorant since that's why you got miraDry!

Answer: MiraDry post treatment MiraDry is an excellent device used to reduce underarm sweating. For a couple of weeks after treatment with MiraDry there is some mild swelling that may relate to the symptoms you are feeling 1 week post treatment. This sensation should improve within a few weeks to a month or two. Be sure to speak to your treating physician about the side effects. For now, you can apply a small amount of moisturizing cream such as CeraVe or Eucerin.
