Scabbing after day 21. What should I do? (Photo)

I had hair transplant 21 days before, FUT & FUE hybrid 3400 grafts. I had been taking care of grafts and not washing them vigorously at all. From last 2 days i had been applying baby oil for 15-20min on scalp before shampooing(Baby shampoo) to remove scabs but still there are so many left. Am still not doing the circular motion massaging as i don't want to damage my grafts. still with scabs sometimes i see hairs attached when they fall. Any suggestion on my above routine to remove scabs

Every surgeon or clinic have their own post op instructions so it would be better to contact your doctor. 21 days is too much. I would recommend you to apply  panthenol foam lotion. Keep it for 5 hours and than wash your hair gently. Once a day will be enough.

It is best to contact your doctor for a follow up exam.  Many doctors offer post operative care and washing.  You should not have so much scabbing at this point.

At 3 weeks you should be fine to gently scrub but concerns like this should best be discussed with your doctor since he or she has their own post op care protocol.  Mineral oil may help, but again, ask your doc.

I usually let my patients start washing more aggressively after 7 days, and scabs are usually gone by two weeks.  Unless your doctor specifically said not to scrub on day 21, it should be fine to go ahead.  You can always call your surgeon to check.

There's no reason to have scabs left past the 14 day mark. At this point by leaving them in all you're doing is increasing the risk of infection, etc. Talk to your doctor about the proper methods for removing the scabs since each doctor's recommendation is a little different, but you should have starting rubbing fairly vigorously to remove the scabs starting at 10 days past the procedure.

Put a shampoo on and leave it on for 10 minutes and then gently rub the grafts with your finger tips and keep repeating this twice a day until all of the crusts come off

At our office we recommend  to be careful touching the grafted areas for the first ten days. However once the grafts are settled, you can start using normal shampoos and touch and rub the areas normally. After three weeks patients can start rubbing the areas and when they get out of the shower and can pick on the scabs with clean finger nails, they come out easier. But I recommend you check with your doctor first.
