Question

As above, I would like to acheive a slight positive canthal tilt and would like to know what uk surgeons do this and how i go about booking this? I dont want a temporary fix I would like a permanent solution. I need this so i need solutions. Thanks

Hi there,

I have had a look at your photograph and quite right, you do have a slight negative canthal tilt.  A positive canthal tilt is a sign of a rejuvenated, youthful eyelid.

A lateral canthoplasty is the correct procedure to give this effect but beware of the potential risks of slight asymmetry, and a 'cat eye appearance'.  I cannot advise on UK surgeons who could offer this but perhaps look for a plastic surgeon with a special interest in occuloplastic surgery - your GP should be able to refer you in the right direction.

Hi and thanks for your question!  A lateral canthoplasty/pexy can give you a positive canthal tilt however it does come at some drawbacks.  Namely it will tighten your lower eyelid and may change the shape of your eye opening to a slightly wider and thinner appearance (ie more asian appearance).  Lateral canthoplasty works best for older people who have had gravity loosen their lower lid and thus have an acquired negative canthal tilt.  It is possible but I probably wouldn't recommend it in you.  Best of luck!

Hi, The answer is there can be improvement of the lateral canthal position. I would recommend an evaluation by an eyelid specialist, oculoplastic surgeon who specializes in eyelid surgery. A complete history and evaluation of the eyelid and face is essential to formulate the best options for you.
