Rhinoplasty can be used at any time to correct nasal deformity. It is much easier to reduce a displaced nasal fracture before it heals with a deformity than to perform a full rhinoplasty after it is completely healed.
Yes, you can have your nose repaired a year after nasal trauma. Nasal trauma can cause both cosmetic and functional issues with the nose that can be addressed with surgery. I suggest you follow up with a board certified surgeon specializing in nasal surgery. I have provided a link below. Good Luck!
Initially after an injury, the nose fracture can be repositioned. Once the bones heal and are solid, rebreaking of the bones would be necessary. This is typically done with a rhinoplasty. Whether you waited a couple months or a year does not matter. If there is breathing obstruction then a septoplasty may be needed as well.
Your nose can be fixed after trauma and its best to wait at least a year after it, so its perfect timing to look into possible solutions. One thing I would caution though that nasal surgery after multiple traumas is not an easy procedure. I would look for a board certified surgeon who has a lot of experience with noses before undergoing repair. Good luck
Yes, you can fix your nose now! You will most likely need a rhinoplasty-- this will potentially help you breathe better through your nose and have a better looking nose. However, it will be important that you are not participating in any activities where you are prone to breaking your nose thereafter! Good luck!
Yes, you can fix your nose once internal healing hastaken place, at any time. Make sure that you see a rhinoplasty specialist since you have had multiple injuries to the nose. Just make sure that you do not plan on breakingyour nose again after it has been fixed, if not just for the aggravation ofgoing through the rhinoplasty process again!
If you had several injuries in a row, the best thing to do is to wait about a year to make sure all the internal healing has taken place. Your nose may continue to change as time goes by. You can still fix your nose a year or later or longer. I would not recommend repairing it any sooner. I see lots of boxers and MMA fighters and I recommend to them to finish out their careers before undergoing corrective nasal surgery. Good luck.Dr. Joe
My recommendation to you is to stop breaking your nose! If you are involved with a certain activity like boxing or MMA, then I would wait until you no longer participate in such nose-breaking activity. With respect to "fixing" your nose, we need to consider acute and long term options. Acutely, any displaced nasal fracture should be reduced or straightened to avoid breathing difficulty and unsightly appearance. Later, a more definitive rhinoplasty can be performed to correct any number of undesirable features such as a dorsal hump, deviated nasal bones, deviated septum, deviated or widened nasal bridge. All the Best,Dr. Brian Reagan#Rhinplasty
You can fix it at any time! You need to know what needs to be fixed. What do you want to improve in the appearance and function ( do you have trouble breathing through your nose)? I would advise finding a surgeon to evaluate and inform you what specifically needs to be done. Schedule surgery when it fits best with your schedule. Lastly and probably most importantly make sure you will be avoiding what broke your nose 3 times!!If you get it fixed and you break it again-- that is not good! Definitely--NG
A rhinoplasty procedure can be performed at any time after the injury to fix a broken nose. It is really up to the patient when they would like to have it fixed. Osteotomies need to be placed in the nasal bones and spreader graft is usually required to straighten the broken and twisted nose. In addition, it's important to make sure there is no deviation of the nasal septum from a fracture of the that area of the nose as well. Your experience is unusual and difficult. Your symptoms of a burning sensation and an intermittent rash are weird. Weird, because it is difficult to know what is causing it. Physicians would first try and see if any medications you are taking may be contributing to the problem....
Your nose is large and can be reduced with rhinoplasty surgery to remove the hump, refine your tip, and lift your hanging columella. You should also consider a small chin implant which will improve balance and make your nose look relatively smaller.
Most offices have access to "nursing" services that can provide aids to drive you and stay with you the night of your procedure. Most are reasonably priced compared to aftercare facilities. Discuss this with your surgeon to get a trusted referral.Jon A Perlman M.D., FACSDiplomate,...
