I have noticed recently a bump on the left side of my nose. I did not have it before. I have never had any procedures done on my nose. Why is it growing and how can it be fixed. If I get rhinoplasty done to fix it, would it leave a visible scar?

Answer: A new bump could be removed with rhinoplasty... If you have not had recent trauma, then the new bump could be a cyst or other growth. Sometimes the cartilage within the nose can change shape as well. The first step is a good examination with a rhinoplasty specialist who can discuss your options. If it is something internal, then it can usually be removed at the same time a rhinoplasty is performed to reshape your nose. In that case, the only scar would be under the nose on the columella, and that usually fades nicely over time.
