Would 700cc get me to a DD? (Photo)

Question

I'm 27 years old, 5'4, 115 pounds and wear a 32B bra. I have done my research and want high profile, above the muscle, round, smooth, saline implants. My goal is to be a DD cup. Would 700CC get me to my goal size? Do doctors usually say yes to that high of a cc on the first surgery? I know that everyone is different including doctors. I really want very big, perky breasts with lots of cleavage without a lift. Would you recommend under or over the muscle? Thank you so much!

Thanks for your question.700 cc implants will make quiet statement.I think that implants placed above the muscle
will give you a coconut shell appearance on your chest and looks incredibly
unnatural.That being said, some people
prefer this look.With that large of an
implant, I doubt that you would need a lift.That being said, 700 cc will truly give you very large breasts as you

Thanks for your question.  Bra cup sizes are not based on a standardized volume or dimension, so your final size could vary depending on the bra that is purchased.  If you have questions about your implant size it would be best to revisit them with your surgeon because they will have based their recommendations on your breast features, and your expressed goals for final size.  It is not possible to give accurate sizing information based on photos alone.

Ido think a 700 mL implant will get you to a double D. You can try on this volume in your own bra prior to surgery to see if this is what you want. There good implant sizing systems available for this.

Don't get caught up in a number. You have young breast skin with some pre-existing asymmetry. The left breast is more deflated, and may need more volume to achieve symmetry. I think if you want high profile, I would try to put them under the muscle, and sometimes you may get a shelf look. Good luck.

Dear Meghen,700cc implants on top of your already B cup breasts will put you well over DD cup.  Also, remember, saline implants are heavier than silicone and when placed over the muscle do not age well.  The "rock in a sock" phenomenon applies here.  Reconsider your options and consult with an American Board of Plastic Surgery board certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

Yes the 700cc would get you there and then some. If you wish to look very full and round, the sub-glandular pocket might be best, and silicone HP rather that saline would be preferred. Do think long term, as large implants have consequences, sometime not pretty ones.

Hi Meghen,if you are starting at a 32 B for 5'4 and 115 Lbs, and if you wish to become a 32 DD, then you will only need about 350-400 cc high profile implants under the muscle.make sure you try on sizers before, and go to a Board Certified Plastic surgeon with experience in cosmetic breast surgery.700 cc is going to be too big for your petite frame. if over the muscle, it will bring you to a 32 E or F, or a 34 DDD for sure. you will have to wear 2 sports bra when exercising, and you will run the risk of capsular contracture ( hardening ), and of bottoming out because the implants will be too heavy for your thin tissue under the breasts. you will most likely need additional surgeries in the future to correct those potential problems.good luck,Florence Mussat

It is difficult without an exam to predict the size you would be with a 700cc. With a 700 cc implant you would likely be larger than a DD.   Implants do not lift the breast so I would be careful trying to increase size of implant to avoid a lift as this does not work and leeds to long term problems.  700cc implants are very large and while I am not against using them the patient must understand the associated risk.  These include increase risk of breast ptosis (droop) occurring prematurely, thinning of the skin, neck and back pain due to the weight of the implant. I would strongly consel you that a 700cc implant in a woman of your size is going to lead to problems.  The best way I have found to size implants is the Mentor sizing system.  It is likely you can achieve your desired size and shape with smaller implants.  Bra size varies depending on manufacturer  so there is no standard size for a DD cup.  Also I would recommend you consider silicone implants as they are lighter and more natural feeling.  Make sure your surgery is performed by a board certified plastic surgeon.

Thank you for the question and pictures.  There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. Despite your good description of goals, online consultants will not be able to provide you with specific enough advice to be truly helpful. Ultimately, careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, and computer imaging)  will be critical.
Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering  breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:
1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully.  Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.
2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals  with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining  breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. 
In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. I have found that the use of words such as  “natural” or "DD cup” or "very big, perky" etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful.
 Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup  size may also be inaccurate.  Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.
3.  Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly,  allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals.  Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery,  after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.

In theory a 700 cc implant would get you to the above D cup range given your photos and height/weight, but it is not always possible or safe to place an implant this large. If you are considering this large of an augmentation I would absolutely recommend getting more than one opinion and making sure your surgeon is Board Certified in Plastic surgery, as well as experienced with placing larger volume implants (ie ask to see photos).
