I am currently 12 days post-op. I am 5'5 and 130 pounds. I got 335 cc silicone hp unders. I absolutely love my implants, but I wish they were closer together to have more cleavage. Is it possible for them to move together over time as they settle? Or is there anything I can do to move them more medially (like massage a certain way or wear a different bra)?

Answer: To early to judge outcome This outcome looks excellent. The implants will not nor should they move closer together. You are also 6 months away from the final outcome. High profile implants were an excellent choice, and always are. Moderate implants are an old fashioned product, with old fashioned results. The MP implants give less upper pole fullness, less projection, and they are too wide for most chest walls. The HP implants are a newer design which were produced to compensate for all of the flaws of MP implants. You made the right choice. Based on your anatomy there is virtually no risk of synmastia.

Answer: Wants closer cleavage. The implants chosen are positioned properly. But if you and your surgeon had chosen moderate plus implants of the same size, they would have been a tiny bit wider, and would have given you concomitantly closer cleavage, as well as a bit more upper pole fullness (wider round = taller vertically). And this would have only lost a tiny bit of projection. Your present appearance is not a bad outcome for high profile implants.Plus, over time and wearing a bra, your implants will probably displace slightly medially, giving you the close(r) cleavage you desire. This comes with a somewhat higher risk of symmastia, however, if the centrally-attached fibers become stretched or torn by too-vigorous medial implant movement (or displacement exercises). The best you can and should hope for are soft breasts that move easily in their pockets and can be pushed to whatever degree of cleavage you desire with a chosen brassiere. Remember, this is a clothed-only look; naked there is no medial pressure on your implants by bra, swimwear, or clothing. Talk to your surgeon about your concerns and don't "mess up" a good result. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
