I have a woman scheduled for a breast lift at the end of July; she is 71. She came to her daughter's post-op breast augmentation visit, saw how great her daughter's breasts looked, and asked if she was too old. She isn't.Interestingly, Marie Kolstad of California had a breast augmentation and lift in June 2011 at age 83. She didn’t tell her family about it until the day before (she didn’t think they’d approve), but she did agree to do interviews afterward. At her age, she told The New York Times, “Your breasts go in one direction and your brain goes in another. Physically, I’m in good health, and I just feel like, why not take advantage of it?” During an ABC News interview, she explained, “I just wanted nice ones. I didn’t want anything outlandish or out of place. Now, they are firmer and rounder."My patients tell me they want to feel as good on the outside as they do on the inside. If you're healthy, there's no age limit to cosmetic breast surgery.Good luck!Dr. Ted Eisenberg
