Does genital herpes affect a breast lift procedure?

I have been looking into getting a breast lift procedure and I has seen several doctors medical questionaires. They mention that if you have cold sores they can't perform surgery on you. Is this true? I have genital herpes but rarely have an outbreak and I don't take medicine either. I do not have oral herpes though. Will having genital herpes prevent me from getting surgery?

I don't see any reason why having genital herpes would prevent you from a breast lift surgery.  I would suggest seeking a second opinion with a board-certified plastic surgeon.  Good luck!

If you're genital herpes is quiescent there certainly no contraindication to elective cosmetic surgery. Frankly I don't think there's a problem if is active but most patients would probably defer surgery until this was under control

I see no reason why having genital herpes should prevent you from having a breast lift surgery, especially if you have no symptoms or an outbreak.  Perhaps you should look for another surgeon.  Best of luck!

No, it should not, but it is important you are not currently going through an outbreak during your surgery.  We may require medical clearance from your treating physician and take precautionary methods such as giving medications before and after surgery to prevent an outbreak.
