5 years post rhinoplasty - Should I have these bumps addressed? (Photos)

I had a rhinoplasty done 5 years ago. My side profile is wildly better. I had a dorsal hump before. But from the front I have these 2 bumps that bother me. My surgeon said I could "get them lasered off" way back at my 1 year post op appointment but I never did anything about it. I need to know are these "bumps" highly noticeable and distracting? No one in my life will tell me..I think they are just being too nice. I do NOT want a revision, but curious if steroid shots or filler might help. When my nose is a little more swollen (typically right in the morning after I've been laying down sleeping all night), these bumps are not as visible.

Hello and thank you for your question. Laser would not fix that. You would definitely need a revision to fix that. Based on your photographss, you are a great candidate for a revision rhinoplasty. Maneuvers for your surgery would include, nasal tip deprojection, placement of a fascial tip graft to provide smoother tip contour, among other maneuvers. With good surgical technique, you could have an outstanding result. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified rhinoplasty surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

In order to deal with this issue permanently you would benefit from open tip surgery to bring tip of the cartilages ( dome) in symmetric position. This may require suturing, soft tissue graft, possibly fine cartilage tip graft, depending of the actual problem and preference of the surgeon; surgery can be done in local anesthesia. Good luck.

These bumps may represent sutures, fibrosis in response to a previous surgery or may be cartilage. You need to be physically examined to determine what it is. If it is cartilage then lasering will not work nor steroids.
