I had my BA two weeks ago and I’m not too sure how I’m feeling about the size. I know it’s still early to tell and there’s still a lot of changes to come but is a 410cc implant considered “big”? I’m 5’5 137lbs and believe my doctor said my chest wall or something about my chest measured I think 13in and used to be a deflated 34B. So with these stats and the size of implant I chose, will my boobs be big like a D cup or average like a C cup? D cup or DD is my goal.
Answer: Breast size Breast size is essentially a combination the native breast tissue and the breast implant. As far as as your breast size at this point, I would wait for things to settle before making any final determinations about the appearance. I find it helpful to spend time with patients before surgery to discuss implant size in detail as well as have patients try implant sizers to see what looks best. I find cup size to be an important component part of the conversation but I find the sizing more helpful. Best wishes, Dr. Jan

Answer: 410cc implant Thank you for your question. A 410cc implant will increase your bra cup by approximately 2 bra cup sizes. My strong advice is to wait a full 4-6 months before considering the final result of your breast augmentation procedure. Good luck.

Answer: Breast augmentation size There are so many factors when deciding the right size for each patient that I cant really say "too big" or "just right" without meeting a patient. If its any help. the average implant is about 350 cc, but taller women certainly have a need for larger implants to achieve a similar look as a smaller implant in a shorter woman.

Answer: Are 410cc moderate profile round silicone implants considered big? Congratulations on having undergone the breast augmentation procedure. Personally, I do not think that it is helpful to classify breast implants as "big"... these types of classifications are not helpful given that everything depends on the patient's anatomic starting point and goals. In other words, it is not necessarily that a specific breast implant implants is "big" or problematic; it is that the use of a breast implant that is TOO large for a patient's frame can be problematic. It may help you to know that a significant percentage of patients at your stage of recovery will feel that they are too big or (more commonly) too small. The vast majority of these patients who are initially quite emotional end up being very pleased with the outcome of the procedure performed. I routinely ask my patients to wait at least 3-6 months before evaluating the end results of the breast augmentation surgery. This waiting time allows patients to (usually) physically and psychologically adapt to the new body image. From the physiological standpoint, it takes many months ( and even up to one year) to see the final results of surgery. factors such as swelling, tissue contraction, skin redraping, implant shifting etc. come into play. You may be pleasantly surprised wants to be "drop and fluff" phenomenon has occurred. From the psychological standpoint, patients undergo an “adaptation period" during which time they get used to the changes that the surgical procedure has brought about. Emotional swings can also occur after any type of surgical procedure. At this point, I would encourage you to exercise patience and continue close follow-up with your plastic surgeon. Best wishes for an outcome you will be very pleased with.

Answer: Implants too big?? Two weeks from surgery, is a very hard time to determine what things will look like after they are healed. 410 ccs is a good sized implant, but whether that will allow you to reach your goal or not should have been discussed prior to surgery. Having a good idea of the patients sizing goals prior to surgery, helps a surgeon pick a right sized volume and projecting implant to meet their goals. Allow things to settle and follow up with your surgeon.
