Severe nerve pain in 1 breast, will Gabapentin help?

I went in for another checkup again since my nerve pain has been so bad. They have me a prescription for Gabapentin, just stared it, let’s hope this helps! By the way, ‘morning boob’ as I’ve heard people call it before is so painful! I love my results however just had no clue I’d have this pain

Thank you for your question and congratulations on your surgery!  After an augmentation the nerves of the skin are stretched as a result of swelling and the increased volume of the implants.  This stretching irritates the nerves which can cause a number of different nipple and breast skin sensations including increased/decreased sensitivity or a burning/electrical feeling.  These normally resolve spontaneously given enough time, but for recalcitrant cases Gabapentin can be used to try and improve symptoms. Hang in there!

Thanks for your question! Sorry about the pain that you have been experiencing. In my experience of doing thousands more of breast augmentation surgeries, gabapentin (aka Neurontin) has proven to be very helpful in alleviating this type of nerve pain. Hopefully it’ll work; best of luck to you!

Gabapentin is used for nerve pain but can be combined with other medications like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Check with your surgeon about the best choice for you.

Hello, Neuropathic pain is very common post augmentation due to stretching of skin. You can use gabapentin and pregabalin to help with the pain. Consult your operating surgeon.

Gabapentin or Neurontin can be helpful in reducing nerve pain after breast augmentation. Neuropathic pain is not uncommon due to stretching of the nerves after placement of breast implants.
