I've been in my vest for 4 days after gynecomstia surgery. I was wondering if I could take it off and shower now?

 We generally recommend that bandages can be removed on day three or four post surgery. So fay four should be ok to shower but it is best to check with your surgeons protocol. Good luck  #showering #PostSurgery #Gynecomastia   

Thank you for your question.  It surgeon is different on their recommendations for showering after gynecomastia surgery.  I recommend 3 days after surgery and then apply compression after shower.  However, it is best to check with your surgeon to verify what they would like you to do.  Best of luck to you!

Each surgeon has its own protocol for post operative care. It is best that you check with your own surgeon about his/her protocol about compression. 

I would confer with your surgeon. Our protocol is to shower 24-48 hours after surgery.  I personally cannot stand to go without a shower for longer than that so I understand patients' impatience.  Its 24 hrs if we do not use a rubberband/penrose drain for my patients.
