I had my ears "pinned" or "tucked" about 12 years ago when I was about 14 years old to address my ears protruding outward due to never forming the upper crease/fold. About two years ago, I developed a pus-filled cyst behind my ear, which eventually went away on its own. However, afterwards, part of the suture is now exposed outside the skin. The suture feels loose, as in it does not appear necessary to maintain the newly-constructed shape of the ear.
