5'8, 160lbs, am I a good candidate for BBL with my crack being so low?

Question

My lower half is very disproportionate to my top and I’ve always been interested in a BBL. I have a relatively low butt crack with a fat pad above it that’s gone down with weight loss.. I’m 5’8 and 160 lbs. I lost about 50 lbs but still have significant fat in my midsection as an apple shape. Would love hips and natural looking butt. I want a proportioned body and to look better in clothing. Thanks!

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a BBL. Liposuction of your abdomen, back and flanks should give you more curves and hourglass shape and fat transfer to buttocks should give you more projection. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

I see no reason why you shouldn’t get a BBL. There are a few things that are worth pointing out.
To get ideal results plastic surgeons typically will prefer patients without skin laxity. Having skin laxity doesn’t mean you can’t have a BBL but it can limit to potential outcome for both Liposuction and fat transfer. The main reason for this is that skin laxity participates and contributes to body contour and can be part of the problem on certain body areas that people don’t like. Loose skin Afton looks and feels like excess fat. To differentiate between skin laxity and subcutaneous fat put the skin under tension by lifting up above the area of concern to see if their contour improves by removing skin laxity.
Secondly is choosing the right provider.
Delivering consistent quality liposuction and fat transfer results is more difficult than most people believe and this includes plastic surgeons.
Patients should be highly selective and choosing providers. I generally recommend patients avoid traveling long distances for elective surgical procedures and avoid virtual consultations if it all possible.
During an in person consultation ask each provider to show their entire collection of before and after pictures. Ask them to show you pictures especially of patients who have similar body characteristics to your own. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing you a minimum of 50 sets a before and after pictures. seeing a handful of pre-selected sample pictures which most likely represent the best results of the providers career is insufficient to get a clear understanding of an average results look like in the hands of each provider.
Ask the provider to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes and outcomes that didn’t turn out as well as they had hoped for.
I also recommend reading all reviews on various physician review websites avoiding providers for the any significant number of justified negative reviews. The absence of justified negative reviews is more important and more telling than having an abundance of positive reviews.
Continue having consultations until you feel quiet comfortable you found the most talented and experience provider in your community.
Permanent procedures like liposuction and to some degree fat transfer are not reversible and if done poorly can leave people disfigured.
In the end there are only two variables that determine what the results would look like. They are each individual person’s individual candidacy combined with the skills and experience of the surgeon. There isn’t much each person can do to change their own candidacy. In your case you have some skin laxity from weight loss but like I said earlier they should not stop you from moving forward with the procedure.
Which patients do have control over is the selection process. That plastic surgeons intelligently as a good patient advocate. Choosing the right surgeon will affect the rest of your life in regards to how the outcome turns out.
I would also encourage you to stay on course with your weight loss and minimize any significant weight fluctuations since these tend to cause worsening skin laxity.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note that you demonstrate a full abdomen with a small lower abdominal "shelf" of excess skin and full flanks. Your buttocks appear relatively small, lacking lateral fullness. Unfortunately, your clothing covers your buttock cleft, so I cannot comment upon the fat pad in that area. However, it can be liposuctioned as well if indicated.A BBL will narrow the waist, flatten the abdomen, and fill out the buttocks (There may be a tummy tuck in your future).Visit a board certified plastic surgeon for evaluation and discussion.Best wishes...
