Is anesthesia pain a real thing before surgery?

The point of anesthesia is to alleviate pain.Must plastic surgeons rely on an anesthesiologist using general anesthesia for the BBL procedure. With general anesthesia the patient is unconscious and will not have any consciousness during the procedure.
The BBL procedure can be done with patients awake using local anesthesia with sedation. In this case patients are awake while local anesthesia is being injected in all the areas that are going to be treated. This is sometimes referred to as injecting tumescent solution.
The process of injecting numbing solution is typically only slightly uncomfortable if the surgeon is gentle and takes their time.
Again this only applies for the procedure if patients are awake and general anesthesia or deep sedation are not being used.
The ability to perform the BBL procedure comfortably without general anesthesia is a skill that has a learning curve.
Doctors differ in their ability to take patients through the procedure without general anesthesia in regards to potential discomfort.

Hi and welcome to our forum!I am assuming you will be undergoing a surgical procedure under local or tumescent anesthesia as under general anesthesia, you will feel only the pinprick of the IV start. Tumescent anesthesia involves infusion of local anesthetic solution into the subcutaneous tissues. There is a tolerable burning sensation as the anesthetic is infused, after which time the area becomes totally numb. In many instances, the local anesthetic may be augmented with IV sedation to ease anxiety and blunt consciousness. Some individuals will have no recollection of the procedure at all, others just a vague memory of the surgery. Discuss this issue with your plastic surgeon before your procedure as patient comfort is a priority.Best wishes...
