I really want to CoolSculpt my chin but the chin piece doesn’t fit my shape. Can I try CoolSmooth?

My chin fat seems pretty flat so I think a flat surface would cover most of it. I don’t want to do Kybella or deoxycholate (didn’t work on my arms and got super swollen).

The Coolsmooth applicator is too large to fit on the double chin area. If the CoolMini applicator doesn't fir for you then you can consider other options such as Kybella fat dissolving injections or ThermiTight. Sculpsure is another alternative, but in my opinion is not as effective as the others. Make sure you are under the care of an experienced provider. Best wishes.

I find that VASER liposuction in combination with ThermiRF are best for contouring the chin in those who are candidates but Kybella can be used as an alternative and gets better results when combined with thermage/ultherapy/exilis or coolsculpting. There are multiple options for neck fat from invasive to non-invasive.  Depending on the amount of fat and the laxity of the area, different treatments may work best.  For small amounts of fat with a little laxity, Kybella works well.  For more moderate amounts of fat, coolsculpting works better; sometimes multiple tips are needed to contour the neck.  Sculpsure has recently been approved for treatment of necks and can work on areas that don't have enough tissue for coolsculpting.  For people with more fat or laxity, laser liposuction or surgical lifts may be more appropriate.  Unfortunately, the coolsmooth wouldn't work on the neck area.  Meet with a few providers; we wary of medspa providers who are not Board-Certified in Dermatology or Plastic Surgery.  Best of luck.

Without seeing you in person it's difficult to say for sure, but if CoolSculpting doesn't turn out to be the best option I would certainly suggest Kybella injections to destroy the fat!

We would need to use the cool mini sizing tool to determine if we can fit it on you. Sometimes, if it doesn't fit one in the center, we find if we do two overlapping and at more of an angle, we can get this to fit better, in some patients. Kybella is a great alternative, but you do swell more. You can always do just one or two vials, to the main areas of concern, and see if this allows for less swelling. You can also consider Ultherapy to this area to contract the tissue some without any downtime. An in person consultation if ideal to determine best treatment choice.

Hi aznleaf,Without seeing you it is difficult to make a recommendation, however Coolmini can still be any option even if you don't have protruding skin/fat. Other than Kybella and Liposuction, Coolsculpting is the only other way to permanently remove fat cells. CoolMini was also recently FDA approved for skin tightening under the chin. When we treat with CoolMini, we overlap two mini applicators in a "V" shape under the chin to provide optimal results. This can be performed for multiple sessions to achieve the look you are working toward.
