I have severe pain in the backs of both legs after liposuction. Gradually worsening, I'm bent over when I walk. What is wrong?

I felt it the next day, but it was bearable. It has gradually gotten worse, now runs down both legs to my heels and has me bent over when I walk. Repeated trips to a chiropractor has not helped at all. Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong?

Severe pain is very in common after liposuction. This should be reported to your own surgeon.Significant pain is occasionally seen when ultrasound or laser energy is used as an adjunct to the procedure.

It is not normal to have severe pain in both legs running down to your heels after liposuction.  I would suggest that you contact your plastic surgeon ASAP to address this problem.  If you are unable to contact your plastic surgeon, I would suggest an evaluation in the Emergency Room immediately to rule out any potentially serious problems.

It is very unusual for pain to worsen after the first few days post liposuction. The pain you are describing is also unusual post liposuction. I would suggest seeing your surgeon ASAP so you can be further evaluated. If you have swelling in the ankles or legs, you should probably go to an ER immediately to rule out blood clots. You did not mention swelling or your time post-op but an immediate call to your surgeon would be wise.

What you describe could very well be sciatica. I suggest you do a little bit of reading on that subject to see if the symptoms match.Sciatica typically has very surgeon anatomic areas that are involved.It can cause pain and numbness. The sciatic nerve's travels down the back of the leg. The nerve is fairly deep and is generally not injured during liposuction.Because liposuction is rarely done in the area where the sciatic nerve travels this is a fairly uncommon event.It is more likely after a Brazilian butt lift were fat is grafted into the buttocks. Swelling over the sciatic nerve can also cause sciatica. I suggest following up with your plastic surgeon to see what he or she has to say.
