Can weight gain restore breast volume and lift sagging breast caused by weight loss?

Question

I recently lost a lot of weight within a month and noticed my breasts aren't perky anymore and have started sagging. Do you think it's cos of the weight loss and do you think I can get my breasts firm again and standing without surgery. Would gaining weight help? I used to really love my boobs now I don't like them too much.

Probably not. You should talk to your doctor and dietician about the best plan for you as every person is different. There's always the option of implants or a breast lift(depending on an in person consultation) to address your concerns!Always insist on a board certified plastic surgeon.

Yes, I do think it could be related to your weight loss. When you lose weight, it not only reduces the size of your waist and thighs, but it might also reduce the size of your breasts – sometimes dramatically. If this happens, you might be left with saggy breasts and stretched skin. Therefore, it's possible that if you gain weight, you might gain back volume. But you've lost elasticity in your skin, which won't be affected by weight change. The droopiness might remain the same.

Yes, weight loss can affect your breasts, but was your weight loss intentional? Because having a healthy BMI is much more important from a long term health stand point than sagging breasts. Those can be corrected with a breast lift. Hope this helps, Dr. Nazarian

Congratulations on the weight loss. It is very possible that the significant weight loss in a short period of time can effect the breast shape and size. After evaluation I would consider all your options including an implant and a lift, but a consultation is necessary to know for certain.

You don't supply pictures or your age or the amount of weitght loss, so this will be a general answer. If the change has occured in just the last month then it should be reversible with putting the weight back on. If it has occurred over a longer period or is due to changes from child birth then the skin may have stretched and the glands atrophied and surgical intervention may be required. Weight gain may help but there’s no guarantee because you can’t control where you put on the weight. Plus, being at a healthier weight is better for your overall health!

It is almost impossible to know for sure, however is relatively easy to find out, you need to gain some weight back and you will see if the breast regain fullness. However, any physician will tell you that weigh loss has many advantages for your health specially in your future, and probably surgical correction of your droopiness, should be something to consider and better for you
