How did 220cc silicone implants and breast lift give me bigger breasts that I don't like?

If no breast tissue was removed then you will predictably go up a cup size with 220 cc implants.  I often use smaller implants with attention to pocket creation so the implant is properly positioned to give the desired superior pole fullness, and often take out some breast tissue if the patient does not want to be larger.  Many patients desire slightly larger breasts to fill out the superior pole. I would advise waiting 6 months before assessing your satisfaction with the final size and shape.  You have a moderate size implant, and it is common to feel too large in the initial postoperative period.  I am glad you like your shape.   That is a huge first step towards being happy.

Hang in there! As long as the shape and feel are improving week to week, however slowly, there is still hope for the final outcome. Ask you plastic surgeon if there are any compression garments, stretches or massaging exercises that can help speed your recovery.

At one week, you have barely started your healing process. Be patient and kind with yourself. It will take your body 3-6 months to fully heal, for the swelling to subside, and for your implants to drop/settle into their final position. Best, Dr. Nazarian

One week after breast augmentation with lift, there is a lot of swelling that will make assessment of final size difficult.  I recommend patience at this point and reassessment of the sittuation at 8 weeks.  Good luck! 

You are still very early after surgery and there is no doubt some swelling.  It is important to be patient in the 'postoperative' period.  Talk to your plastic surgeon about your concerns.  Implants have to settle and postoperative swelling can persist for 6-12 weeks in general.  Good luck!

Hi, there.Since your surgery was only one week ago, I expect that you may have high-riding implants and swelling.You did not go with  a large implants.  Please allow swelling to come down and implants to settle for next 3-6 months before judging your outcome.Good luck with your recovery.

weeks for the wounds to heal and around 4-6 months for the implants to fully

I think you need to give it more time before assessing size.  Most patient feel that they are too big in the beginning but gradually get used to the new size and end up liking it.  Give it more time before you ask for smaller implants.

Thank you for your question.  If you had a lift (and no breast tissue was removed) and breast augmentation then your breasts will likely be larger than before surgery.  The purpose of an augmentation is to add volume.  There typically is some swelling after surgery, but the size increase from the 220cc of the implant will not go away.  I would wait several months to make a final determination.  Be sure to express your concerns to your surgeon at your next follow-up appointment.  Best of luck!
