What are these bloody/pimples on my nipples? (Photo)

The blood filled cysts that you showed in the photographs you sent are, in fact, dissolvable sutures that your body is trying to dissolve.  The process of dissolving the suture is also creating some small blood filled cysts.The technical term describing these dissolvable threads and their coming to the skin surface is "spitting sutures".  The entire process that the edge of your areola is going through now is controlled by your immune system which is trying to protect you from the foreign body material contained in the sutures.  I would highly recommend you call your personal plastic surgeon and have a consultation in the very near future in order to decrease the amount of scarring that these dissolving sutures may create.

These are sutures placed in the deep dermis that are supposed to dissolved.  Sometimes the can come to the surface and cause these pimples and openings.  They almost always heal on thier own.  Apply antibiotic ointment when they occur.  Once all the sutures either dissolve or come out, these will stop.

Dissolvable sutures sometimes necessitate through the skin before entirely disappearing. This can create small sterile abscesses. Treatment is generally good wound care. In any event report it to your surgeon.

Thank you for your questions and photographs.  It appears that you are suffering with intermittent stitch abscesses.  These are localized areas of infection related to the inability of the stitches to fully dissolve.  Normally local wound care is all that is needed to clear these, as you have done, but occassionally a stitch needs to be removed.  Voice your concerns with your surgeon, they can help manage these small isolated infections.  

It the dissolvable stitches that have not fully dissolved. They're harmless, but they do delay healing so if you see a visible string, make an appointment to see your surgeon so that he or she can remove it which will speed up your healing process. Best, Dr. Nazarian

This sometimes happens with sutures.  It appears to be small stitch abscesses that have ruptures and opened up.  Keep them clean and with local wound care they should heal without much problem or scar.  If they create unsightly scar those areas could possibly be revised under local in the future.  Be sure to communicate these concerns with your surgeon.  Best wishes.

Thanks for your question! As others have stated, it appears as though these are localized irritation spots from dissolving sutures. Consult with your surgeon if they continue, but in the meantime, keep them clean and protected from rubbing in your bra.  As soon as the sutures are out or dissolved this issue resolves.

These "pimples" that you are experiencing are a result of the small abscesses from the underlying sutures. These are self limiting and with local wound care will eventually regress over time. You should however, follow up with your plastic surgeon to be evaluated.
