Will a strep throat diagnosis 2 weeks before surgery require i postpone my lift and aug?

Thank you for your question. If in the unfortunate circumstance that you get sick before your surgery, you may have postpone your surgery until you are better again. If you are feeling sick, I would discuss with your surgeon who may help you decide depending on your individual symptoms.  You are a couple weeks before surgery so you should be fine.  I would discuss with your surgeon.

Though having surgery while sick is a bad idea, 2 weeks should be plenty of time especially with treatment.  Discuss the diagnosis honestly with your plastic surgeon and let them know that this is occurring.  However, the fact that you no longer have a fever and your case is 2 weeks away is a good sign.  Good luck and take care.

2 weeks is plenty of time for you to get over your strep throat.  Only if you are still sick should you postpone the surgery

At this point the injection of penicillin was probably curative, and the condition is resolved.  As long as you aren't experiencing any fevers or ongoing symptoms, your surgeon will most likely proceed.  Of course, the final word rests with your surgeon and the anesthesiologist though.  Good luck.

Two weeks should be enough time for you to recover.  If you are afebrile and have no symptoms you should  be fine for elective surgery.  

Relax!  Strep is one of the few bacterial infections that responds almost immediately to antibiotics.  While we don't want to place implants in someone with an active infection (there can be bacterial seeding of the implants that results in capsular contracture, even infection of the implant) two weeks after treatment for the strep you should be all clear!  Good luck!

Sorry for your unlucky timing. Yes, your PS will probably delay your surgery until you have been over this strep for about 3 weeks. Of course, all surgeons are different and he may feel ok with proceeding, but your risk of infection will be higher. Hopefully you are on antibiotics already. Best wishes
