I’m 16 days post op and I got a breast augmentation/lift (lollipop) my breast are not as round as I’m expected. The implants I have are small in my opinion. Natrelle style 15 (339) cc . I am 145 and 5’5 . My surgeon chose this size because I told him I wanted a rejuvenated look as opposed to a [RS bleep] star look. But I’m afraid I should of gone bigger. I know I been asking a lot of questions, but I like to hear 2nd,3rd, and more opinions and insights from different surgeons.
Answer: Post Op Concerns - Dropping of Implants Hi danswoman85, I understand your concern and it is quite normal to be concerned about the outcome following a breast augmentation surgery. However, you are still in the early stages of the healing process at 16 days post op. Your will need to be patient at this moment and follow what your surgeon has instructed you to do post operatively. At the early stage of the healing process, the tissues around the implants are still swollen. Once the swelling subsides and the implants drop to their final position, you will be able to see the final result of your breast augmentation surgery. Dropping of implants is part of the healing process and this occurs after the tissues surrounding the implants slowly relax, allowing the implants to settle into their final position. It can take about four to six months for the implant to drop down to their final position. But if you are still concerned, you can always visit your plastic surgeon and discuss your concerns. This way, you will be reassured. Also, if after six months, you are not satisfied with the appearance of your breast, you can visit your plastic surgeon and discuss the possibility of revision surgery. Lastly, follow your plastic surgeons post-operative instructions and advice for faster healing and recovery. Daniel Barrett, MD, MHA, MS Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, Am. Answer: How long does it take for the breast implants to drop? Hello and thank you for the question. It can take several weeks to months for the implants to drop to their final position. Early after breast augmentation or augmentation-mastopexy, implants sit higher on the chest and look unnatural. Over time and as they move downward to place themselves behind the breast tissue, they will look bigger and more natural. I would give it more time before judging your results. You surgeon is your best resource. Best, Pejman Aflaki, M.D. Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Breast augmentation with mastopexy Hi and thanks for your question. First, it usually takes several months before implants settle especially if placed behind the muscle (submuscular). Next, if you needed a lollipop breast lift (vertical mastopexy), initially your breasts will look quite "pointy" before everything settles and take a more rounded shape. You're still very early in the healing process. Hang in there and stay in touch with your surgeon.
