Thank you for your question! Yes it is possible to have surgery if you are on blood pressure medication, as long as your blood pressure is controlled and you are cleared for surgery from your primary care provider. I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon who can gather your medical history information and create a personalized plan for you. Best of luck!
Hello and thank you for the question. As long as your blood pressure is controlled, there should not be any objection to get liposuction. Best,Pejman Aflaki, M.D.Johns Hopkins-trained plastic surgeon
Hi, thank you for your question. Yes, if you are otherwise in good health, and your blood pressure is well-controlled on your medication, you can most likely have liposuction on your blood pressure medication. With aesthetic surgery, safety has to of course always come first. Most board certified plastic surgeons will require any patient with ongoing medical problems to obtain medical clearance prior to having aesthetic surgery.
The short answer is: yes. The more complete answer is: it depends. If blood pressure is under control with medications, then in general doing a surgical procedure is safe. Patients may need to get cleared by their PCP or cardiologist prior to the procedure if being done under general anesthesia. The exact medications used also makes a difference. Some medications for blood pressure can cause electrolyte disturbances, so this may need to be checked prior to surgery. A board certified plastic surgeon will be able to tell you if the procedure is safe given the past medical history, and any modifications that may need to be made.
Blood pressure that is under control is no problem when doing liposuction under tum. local. So many patients take bp meds and they do just fine.
Yes, as long as your blood pressure is controlled, you can have liposuction. For best results, I recommend a hi definition procedure like VASER liposuction. I use VASER HI DEF with ThermiRF/J Plasma/Renuvion/InMode BodyTite and fat grafting to get the most fat removal, skin tightening, contour and definition. This combination will give you the most toned result. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a hi definition physique expert. Best, Dr. Emer
You can safely have surgery if your blood pressure is well controlled with medication and if your doctor has appropriately cleared you for surgery. Your age and other risk factors will determine if you need additional tests before surgery (bloodwork, EKG, clearance by a cardiologist).
tapo123. It is important to be in the best possible health prior to any elective cosmetic procedure. However, as long as your blood pressure is under control, and you are medically cleared by your PMD, there should be no reason why you cannot undergo liposuction. Consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon about all your concerns. Good luck.
As long as your blood pressure is well controlled on medication, you should be able to have the procedure. best wishes.
As long as your blood pressure is well controlled with medication and you are otherwise healthy, you can proceed with liposuction. Your PS may require medical clearance from your internist or cardiologist to ensure your safety during and after surgery.
Thank you for your question. You will likely notice SOME improvement after 1-2 weeks, but your full result after liposuction will not be evident for 3-6 months as swelling resolves. In terms of weight loss, you will not see much if any after liposuction. Liposuction is a shape change...
Swelling and healing as well as scar maturation can persist for 6 months and sometimes up to 1 year following liposuction. You should probably wait at least 6 months before considering a tummy tuck after liposuction.
Thanks for your question. Yes, you can get up to 4 liters liposuctioned from different areas to be used for a fat transfer. I recommend you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon experienced in fat transfers to discuss your goals, examine you, and show you before/after photos to give ...
Thank you for your question! No, it is not necessary to wear your compression garment at 7 months post op. For my patients, I recommend they wear their compression garments for the first 3 weeks, 24/7, then an additional 3 weeks at night only. I also recommend discussing specific post op...
Great question. Thank you for the post. Non-invasive technology could be used to slim the thighs, calves and ankles. Laser assisted lipolysis (Sculpsure) or cryolipolysis (Coolsculpt) can be used. Alternatively, magnetic resonance technology can be used and this will also built...
Swelling can persist for 6 months and sometimes up to 1 year following liposuction. Follow up with the PS who performed your liposuction if you continue to be concerned.
