Could Xeomin be wearing off really fast or not taking as well be a sign I was ripped off?

There are no guarantees as to how long the product will last. I don't think it necessarily means you were ripped off. If the product doesn't work well for you, it might not be the right one for you.

This is difficult to answer without before and after pictures. It may be that more Botox is needed. Deeper lines need a combination approach of Xeomin with fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

      If she injected less overall to stay within the constrains of your budget, it is very probable that it would wear off sooner. It sounds like she may have spread the amount over a larger area as well if she treated your forehead this time. I would recommend discussing these concerns with your provider. That being said, neurotoxins do gradually wear off. Two weeks out from your injection you should see the most result, with things gradually beginning to soften and move from there. Hope this helps.

Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin lock the release of a chemical called acetylcholine, which triggers the muscle contractions that create wrinkles. Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin essentially paralyze the muscles and stops them from contracting. Results from these treatments are visible within 3-7 days with results that can last anywhere from 3-4 months. It may be possible that you need a larger dose in the areas that you treated. Follow up with your injector to discuss your options and goals. Hope this helps.

I am very sorry to hear that your results did not last as long as long as anticipated. It sounds like the doctor may have reconstituted an already opened bottle of Xeomin. When receiving injectables always ask to see that you a receiving a freshly opened vial and verify that you are within its expiration date.

Hi there! I wouldn't necessarily say that this is a sign that you've been ripped off. Xeomin loses potency over time-- it is possible that you received an older product. It is also possible that you simply need more product than your muscles need. I would suggest following up with your injector. Have a good day!

That can be very difficult to answer. I would speak with your injector and possibly try using Botox at your next injection appointment

It is very hard to say what is the cause of your Xeomin not lasting as long this time around.  Sometimes it may wear off faster due to your personal metabolism (exercise, facial expressions, etc...).  Six weeks, however is a very short duration for a therapeutic dose.  Make sure to discuss with your treating physician exactly how much was used at each visit for comparison. 

The typical duration of effect of each treatment is up to 3 months; however, the effect may last significantly longer, or shorter, in individual patients. This duration also varies if the patient is on certain medication, including Herbal Supplements, and how fast the patient's body metabolizes drugs. In our office we prefer using Xeomin since it is a more refined product than Botox and Dysport, although we carry both of these products.

Thank you for your question.  If you went to the same doctor, and the same amount was used in the same areas, then it might have to do with the Xeomin losing potency, possibly by being left around too long.  This is something you might want to explore with the provider.  If the provider changed the amount you received in the given areas, then the dosage changes may have resulted in it wearing off quickly.
