My chin muscle contracts after Botox (Xeomin). Is this normal? What should I do? Help (Photo)

You should be examined by your injector as to the cause of the most recent changes. I would not be surprised if the recommend a higher dose of Xeonim next time. It must be done when your skin has cleared up, however.Good luck, Dr. ALDO

I recommend following up with your injector. Additional Xeomin may give improvement or venus legacy treatments can soften results. Xeomin results resolve in 3-4 months. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

      I would discuss this with your provider. This is probably due to the injection and should be remedied with a few more units injected on the side with the muscle movement. This should soften that contraction and decrease the indentation you are experiencing.

Thanks for your question. I agree that it's an odd reaction to the treatment, but it should be temporary and should definitely wear off when the xeomin wears off. It appears to be a spasm in some of the fibers in that area, it could wear off a lot sooner as that is a very small amount. You should followup with your injector to get their advice.

There may be some temporary change in the configuration of the chin and 2 units is an extremely small amount.  4 units into the mass of the muscle if it is a single fasicle will suffice and 3 units divided if it looks like 2 areas --see a board certified dermatologist
