Nose not turned out well 1 year post-op - is it strange my doctor did not remove my cast a week after?

Is it strange that my doctor did not remove my cast a week later ( his nurse did) and didn’t see me till 6 weeks later for the first time after surgery? My nose has not turned out well and im close to a year post op. I am thinking back on all the red flags before and after surgery and am realizing that he did not remove my cast or speak to me. I thought it was routine but none of my friends had that experience. No photos either.

That said, however, we check all of our patients whenever they come into the office, including at their reveal one week after surgery. Additionally, we take photographs and look at before and after photos with our patients one month, three months, six months, and a year after surgery. If you are dissatisfied with your results, please consider calling your surgeon and making a follow up visit so you can have before and after pictures examined and discuss your concerns. That's three "not"'s in one sentence. My high school English teacher would kill me. I reviewed your other posts. Seems to me you have enough evidence that, if you decide you want more improvement in your nose, you should research a revision rhinoplasty surgeon, and not return to your first surgeon.

Some surgeons have their staff do all the post op care and rely on the staff if there are any problems. I agree it give the patient the impression that the surgeon doesn’t care and is poor form

It is unlikely that the cast removal by the nurse is the reason that your nose may not have turned out well. I would recommend you see your surgeon again to discuss your concerns. Rhinoplasty is a difficult operation and I always recommend seeking an experienced facial plastic surgeon for nasal surgery.
