Thank you for your questionConfusing terms lead to confusionThere are actually two pair of labia. a lower pair that inserts into the clitoris and a second pair called prepuce that forms the hood and which usually insert into the lower pair. The skin immediately over the clitoris is called the hood. The clitoris should not poke out more that 2-5 mm (1/8-1/5 inch). From your photo you should not remove any more hood(hood reduction). What you are looking to reduce is excess prepuce which would leave the hood as is, so as to not have the clit poke out any more than it does now.

Clitoral good reduction will inevitably uncover your clitoris more. This can help sensation somewhat but if you are concerned you should address this at the time of your examination with your surgeon as they can help you decide if this too much for your liking or customize the reduction such that only a small amount is exposed. It appears that the loose skin is limited to the labia minora. The clitoral hood appears smooth. So long as the labia minora skin is reduced in a precise and conservative fashion, the clitoris should not look like a tiny penis.

The shape and size of your clitoral hood is your best feature. You do have large labia minora and would benefit from a labiaplasty. This is an in-office procedure perfromed under local anesthesia.

Assuming your clitoris is not currently exposed, it should not be after a hood reduction. Hope this helps.

If a triangle-shaped skin is removed upwards from the side of the clitoral hood, your clitoris will not look like a penis. Of course, your labium minors should be reduced at the same time.
