I have 700 cc saline breast implants under the muscle. I want to go bigger maybe 1400cc. I've had my implants for 17 months now. But my issue is I can't find a surgeon who does it. Everyone keeps telling me they only go to 800cc. Is there any reputable doctors who specialize in larger implants or is this impossible.
Answer: Breast implants larger than 800 g Yes, it is possible to have implants larger than 800 g, but there are few issues you should consider. First, you may have to accept implants that are not FDA approved and have your procedure outside the US, or have overfilled saline implants. I would strongly advise against using 'stacked' implants, which is something that was tried in the early days of breast enlargement, causing several problems.Big implants (and for some surgeons the definition of big starts as low as 350cc) cause permanent, non-reversible changes to your breast tissues. It may be very difficult to go back to a smaller size without accepting very long scars and a rather poor shape. Most of the risks of the procedure, including infection and exposure of the implants, are significantly higher with very large implants. If you feel comfortable with this, do make an appointment with a surgeon that has specific experience of breast augmentation with large implants and listen carefully to what is achievable and what the downside of this decision can be.What you have in mind is possible, but that doesn't mean it is the right decision for you.

Answer: Selecting a breast implant size for breast augmentation I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery(ASPS) and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. Ask to see before and after photos. As for that large, anything is possible. It just depends are you willing to accept the risks of the poor result, infection, tissue loss, skin destruction etc. Best wishes, Dr. Michael J. Brown Northern Virginia Plastic Surgeon
