Breast reduction revision - can this be fixed? (Photo)

Question

I had a breast reduction 18 mths ago. I am not happy with it 2 main issues-1. I have webbing of my chest skin. It looks fine naked, but looks really strange in a bikini I dont ever have space between my breasts. 2. The upper pole flattened and spread to my sides/armpit area causing back fat or armpit fat that I never had before. mage 3 & 5 were before images.Others are after. Can it be fixed?

Hello and thank you for your questions! In my opinion, you have had a good result after breast reduction surgery. The "webbing" is a normal variant that is present in many people, but as you point out, if it's present before surgery it may be accentuated afterwards. This is a very difficult problem to correct surgically and I would advise against "chasing" this with further incisions. You may try adding additional volume such as with fat grafting on the upper inner aspects of the breasts which can lessen the appearance of this "webbing" and would also address the "flatness" of the breast slope which you have brought up. The lateral chest wall/axillary fullness can be addressed with liposuction. Good luck to you on your journey!

A breast reduction will not cause back fat. That fat was already present, but probably not noticed from the size and weight of your breasts. Now since the girls are lifted and reduced, you are seeing other areas of concern that were present all along.  The upper pole is always smaller after a reduction, but implants placed behind the muscle can be added for more upper breast fullness.  More skin could also be tightened if desired. go back to your surgeon and discuss your options. The option of high perky breasts is not yours since naturally your breasts sit low on your chest. The bases of your breasts cannot be moved.  You did not show your before photos, but your results do look good.

Based on your concerns you may want to consider a revision with autoaugmentation.  This approach uses your own tissue to help create more upper pole fullness.  This is different from fat grafting.  I've included a video that I hope you find helpful.

To make an accurate assessment regarding the outcome of a plastic surgery procedure we generally need to see a complete set of proper before and after pictures. If you don’t have before and after pictures, then ask your surgeon to forward the pictures they took. the pictures you’ve included are somewhat helpful. It’s hard to really understand the issues based on them Restaurant action surgery can be tricky and to avoid dog ears. Sometimes incisions need to be taken up into the armpit or onto the back gate some patients may be apprehensive of having extensive scars, and this may come at the price of fullness towards the end of the skin excision I suggest you follow up with your provider and have him or her address your concerns. For a proper second opinion consultation I suggest you schedule those as in person consultations with other plastic surgeons in your community.
