Will chin implant be beneficial if my top and bottom lip slightly don't line up from profile view? (photos)

That is a very common question. I perform both chin implant surgeries and genioplasties. When the amount of recession is greater than 6 mm in a female, the genioplasty procedure is my preferred procedure. When the amount of forward advancement is 6 mm or less a chin implant is fine. The larger the chin implant, the greater the effect will be on the chin width. A 6 mm chin implant will make the chin appear wider with a more masculine look. A genioplasty has minimal effect on changing chin width so I can move a chin forward 9 mm and not make it appear un-aesthetic. Both procedures are performed in the office with intravenous anesthesia and they do not affect the teeth. Both procedures will improve lip incompetence.

Hello, hope you are well. You would absolutely benefit from chin augmentation, and an implant is a great way to go. The placement of implants is straightforward, can be done in the office under local anesthesia, and there is minimal downtime.

You are an excellent candidate for a chin implant. This will make your profile look much better. This will not correct any misalignment of your lips but improve your overall appearance.

There is no doubt that chin augmentation with implant would significantly improve your facial balance and harmony. Most likely, it will not affect relationship of the lips. Good luck.

Yes - I think a chin implant would be a nice way to improve the balance of your face. Of course, a chin implant will not improve any dental issues (e.g. poor occlusion or an overbite.)

I do these in the office with no external incisions. It takes about 15 minutes and you go straight home.

Good morning. Part of the evaluation would entail taking a look at your teeth and seeing your teeth/dental alignment. Based on the photos, you seem to have adequate length to your chin, but need added projection to add balance to your face. This could be done in a few ways, one of which would be an implant. It looks like we are local and I would be happy to see you in person and give you a better assessment!

From the side profile photograph, you have a significant recessive chin profile for which a chin implant can certainly improve. Placement of a chin implant can be done as an outpatient procedure under local anesthesia. We make a small incision under the chin to insert implant. Digital computer imaging would also be helpful to understand what a new Chin might look like upon your facial features.
