22 years old, struggled all my life even when very skinny. I want it all gone, I want a nice sharp jaw if possible. Do I need a lift or just lipo? I don’t want to just get lipo and then still feel like I don’t have a nice jawline. I plan on losing about 20 pounds as well but it will still be there. If a neck lift do I need a mini one or a regular one? PLS help thank you :)
Answer: Anterior neck lift or short scar neck lift Thank you for your enquiry. The concern that you highlighting is essentially hereditary and mostly driven by the volume situated deep to the platysma muscles. An anterior neck lift procedure, also referred to as short scar neck lift can address the problem situated under the platysma as well as reduce the volume of fatty tissue under the skin. It does involve the scar under the chin measuring approximately 3 cm but is unlikely to require any skin tightening. 3D imaging and computer simulation can help with this assessment and the management decision. If you are planning to lose 20 pounds, I would suggest starting with the weight loss as it may change the impression of treatment required to achieve your goals.

Answer: Neck Lift, Neck Liposuction, Facelift, Facial fat grafting, Neck Lipo Hello the vampire slayer, Thank you for reaching out with your question about the best approach for improving your neckline, and congratulations on your weight loss journey. Based on your current situation and future weight loss plans, it's important to make an informed decision. Given that you're planning to lose an additional 20 pounds, it's advisable to reassess your neck area after reaching your weight loss goal. Weight loss can significantly impact the neck's appearance, potentially altering the amount of excess skin and fat in that region. At 22, your skin likely has good elasticity, which could naturally adapt to changes in underlying fat. Currently, your primary concern appears to be excess neck fat rather than loose skin. In this case, VASER neck liposuction could be an ideal solution. This technique uses ultrasound technology to break up fat before removal, offering a more precise and less invasive option than traditional liposuction. It typically requires about an hour under IV sedation or general anesthesia, with most surgeons preferring the latter for comfort and safety. Post-procedure, wearing a neck compression garment is crucial for at least two weeks to ensure proper healing and reattachment of the skin to the underlying structures. Generally, drains are not necessary, and small incisions are made under the chin and possibly behind each earlobe for minimal scarring. In summary, consider completing your weight loss journey first, then evaluate your neck. If the excess fat persists, VASER neck liposuction could be a suitable and effective option to achieve the neckline you desire. Best of luck with your weight loss and future procedures. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Necklift I would recommend a necklift to address your concerns. I would go see a board-certified plastic surgeon (with plastic surgery residency and aesthetic fellowship training) for a consultation.

Answer: Chin liposuction I expect you to get a very good result from liposuction of the area and you won't need a lift with that. In your age group and with the photos you are showing, your skin will bounce back without needing a lift. The other two options to treat this area are Coolsculpting or Kybella. Coolscultping will take a few sessions and must be done by an expert with experience treating this area. Kybella will also take a few treatments and may not be as thorough as liposuction. In my practice, we offer all three treatments. As a surgeon, my favorite treatment for this problem is liposuction as it can be done in one treatment and works so well when done by a surgeon with experience and in a patient like you who is suitable for the procedure. All the best to you, Dr. Nancy de Kleer

Answer: You don’t need a neck lift Hello,This area tends to bother a lot of people but there are a lot of good treatments for patients like you whose skin isn’t that loose. The first couple would be kybella or coolsculpting to get rid of the fat under the skin. These can work well but depending on the patient can take multiple treatments and cost quite a bit of money. The best “one and done” treatment for you would be neck liposuction. One short surgery and the majority of the fat could be removed and you would have a much tighter neck. Neck liposuction costs roughly 4800$ where kybella costs roughly 1500$ per treatment but most patients need 3 treatments or more, even up to 6 treatments.Hope this helps!
