Hello ! Thank you for your question I made it over the photos, depending on the evaluation, I recommend you a chin implant surgery to make your face look more beautiful from the side ,more pronounced jawline, and from the front to make the face appear asymmetricalThank you regards !
Hi, thank you for your question and photos! A chin implant can correct a weak chin and improve the definition of your jawline. Based on your photo, your chin appears to lack projection. However, one photo of a side profile is not enough to determine your eligibility for the procedure. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon who can properly assess your face and tailor the best procedure plan according to your needs and goals.
"A formal evaluation would be needed to determine what's best. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, so we perform a non-surgical chin augmentation treatment with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill as well as Sculptra are injected into the area, improving the overall appearance of the lower face and balancing the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline and improve the chin crease.Implants are still a great option once you are 100% positive that you are ready for a permanent enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert; our practice is located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer"
Hello, hope you are well. A properly sized chin implant would add projection to you chin, bringing it closer to ideal alignment with the upper and middle thirds of your face. There are variations in shape and size that I typically review with the patient at the initial office consultation, so you can have a better understanding of the 3-dimensional change in shape that can be achieved. In rare circumstances, a custom implant can be created. I usually perform chin implant placement transorally through an incision in the sulcus between the gingiva/teeth and lower lip under local anesthesia. It's a simple, reliable and satisfying method of augmenting the chin. Hope this helps!Best,Dr. Tower
Thanks for the question. Based on your photo, your chin looks a bit receded. Chin implant surgery is a cosmetic surgery procedure that involves inserting an implant to enhance the shape and projection of the chin. The procedure is typically recommended for individuals who have a weak or recessed chin, which can affect their facial profile and balance. If you are interested in a chin implant, it is recommended that you consult with a board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate your individual situation and provide you with personalized recommendations. I wish you the best.
From a morphological standpoint, FaceTime in your photos you provide, you are a good candidate for a chin implant augmentation, both to treat your recession and add length to the chin. This will not only help improve the appearance of the chin, but also minimize a “pseudo double chin” appearance, as well as help lift up and support your lower lip, which will tend to hang more as you age.I hope this helps and good luck.
You do appear to have some recession of your chin that could be augmented with a chin implant. There are a variety of sizes and styles of chin implants, and your surgeon would be able to determine which implant might be best for you.
There are two options for a recessive chin. You can consider a chin implant or sliding genioplasty. When the chin is very recessed and needs 7-9 mm of added projection I prefer the sliding genioplasty. When the chin is less recessed and only requires 5-7 mm of projection I will consider an implant. I some cases, a large implant can make the chin look wide and more masculine which is fine in most males. Both procedures are performed in the office with intravenous anesthesia.
I almost always recommend a genioplasty over a chin implant. Although this is a slightly larger procedure, the end results are worth it. Some of the great benefits of a genioplasty is that it will last forever, and all the incisions are made from the inside, which means no external scarring. Genioplasty tends to be more predictable than an implant as well. You will benefit from both horizontal and vertical movement. Bringing your chin forward and down will create more facial balance and a stronger profile. It will also add length and definition to your jawline, which a chin implant would not be able to do. You would get a much better outcome with a genioplasty than with a chin implant.
Dear annewhite89,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
Chin implant extrusion through the oral mucosa is a serious medical concern that could lead to chronic irritation or complications, but it doesn’t directly cause cancer. When an implant extrudes through the oral mucosa, it can lead to chronic discomfort, infection, and tissue damage. While c...
We almost always prefer/recommend a genioplasty over an implant. A genioplasty has many benefits over an implant, and is generally more predictable. Implants are limited, and will make your chin wider, which does not sound like something you want. From the front, the lower portion of your face...
I did not see your presurgical photos but your chin does appear a bit narrow and prominent. Silicone implants are easily removed but high density polyethylene implants can be difficult to remove because of tissue ingrowth. In addition, after one year, the tissue expansion created by the implant...
