Is it possible to create a more rounded hairline through a forehead reduction?

I find that we cannot reliably make changes to the hairline shape with forehead reduction surgery, but we can with hair transplants. For these reasons, if the patient's primary goal is hairline shape changes, then we may lean more toward transplants. If the patient's primary goal is reducing the size of the forehead, then I lean toward forehead reduction surgery. If a patient wants to attack BOTH of these issues, then they need to understand that a multi-stage procedure is going to be needed, and this will very likely involve a forehead reduction surgery followed by a hair transplant procedure to round out corners or alter the shape slightly.Be sure to see an expert who is well-versed in all of these options and procedures.Best,

Hair transplant surgery with individual hair follicles are better suited to ROUND OUT the hairline.  Forehead reduction will be limited in rounding out the corners.  

About 15 percent of my patients have hair transplants approximately 3 months after a hairline lowering if they desire a more rounded hairline. This is especially true in females with temporal recessions.  I find this to give a more natural result than just lowering a female hairline with hair transplants.
