ive decided i want to get my brow ridge reduced or get my jaw line reduced, but as a 18 year old trans girl a 15,000 surgery jus isnt a possibilty so ive decided on getting one of the 2 procedures then combing it with fillers & injections (cheeks, lips, then depending on which procedure is best for me either a brow lift or botox jaw reduction) my question really is which procedure do you think will benefit my face in terms of feminization. Also what is the average cost of the 2.
Answer: Forehead or jaw Most often the forehead surgery is the most transformative, with the added benefit of faster results. After jaw surgery it can take moths for swelling to completely resolve. In your case you have a very feminine chin, and your jaw is only strong further back under your ear. Your brow isn't dramatic either, but I think reducing that along with lifting your eyebrows (typically part of the same procedure) would be very feminizing. Cost varies significantly depending on where you have the surgery, how healthy you are, and your specific surgeon. Probably $5-10K for each surgery. Call your surgeon's office and they typically have someone there who can give you a better idea. Bryan Rolfes, MD

Answer: Facial Feminization Surgery should be thought of Facial refinements for MTF transgender women Dear Brii,First of all let me saw that you bare presenting very well and are very attractive as you are. I would definitely avoid both of the procedures that you are asking about in favor of a little balancing around your eyes and cheeks with filler. In my practice I like to think of facial feminization surgery for transgender women no different from aesthetic refinements in cis-gender women. At the end of the day all faces have masculine and feminine components. I feel a lot of bad decisions can be made by considering FFS a bucket list of procedures including skull alterations and hairline surgery. In my opinion these procedures considered as the mainstay of FFS should be reserved as final options after the more significant aspects with lower risks are completed. From analyzing your pictures I think volume redistribution to balance your face would be the most beneficial and simple. I use a technique that I call Aesthetic Facial Balancing to achieve feminized and lifted appearances using either off the shelf fillers or your body's own fat. Focusing on the area around your eyes, brows and high cheeks would give you the biggest bang for the smallest buck. If you are considering more surgical approaches, a rhinoplasty to shorten your nose and rotate the tip upwards would be a nice enhancement as well. I really think you should avoid surgery at this point and have the subtle adjustment listed above. I hope this helps! All the best, Dr. Rian

Answer: Do your forehead Briiricker,You have quite a good look to start with. I think your jaw is not a big problem as it is. I'd suggest adjusting the brow ridge as the best way to get your results.

Answer: Brow ridge vs. jaw reduction You are already quite feminine, so a few changes will go a long way. I would focus on your forehead. Contouring the brow bone will open up your eyes and give a pretty dramatic change. Since your chin is petite, you may just be focusing on the back of your jawline. You can try botox injection into the masseter muscle for this which will give you some change with no downtime.

Answer: Browlift vs jaw reduction Browlift is likely to have a more noticeable impact for you. You already look great so further improvement can add more subtle feminization. The width of the jaw can be bone or soft tissue which are treated differently. Cheek and jaw contouring can be done with fillers and botox initially until you want to do surgery (if needed). Best wishes.
