Hi Is it convening to do close to xmas? In the event of a problem? How soon after can you be in the sun? Everyone has a different recommendation on when you can exercise- what is our opinion?
Answer: Activities after deep plane face lift As with any surgery, you must allow sufficient time to heal. Immediately after surgery you will have bruising and swelling. My patients typically have a head wrap on for 48 hours, and can shower 2-3 days after surgery. Very light activity for 5-7 days. May return to light exercise at two weeks, 80-90 % of swelling will resolve by 4 weeks. Any important event should be minimum of 6 weeks after surgery.

Answer: Generally, should be okay but it's up to you Generally, you look visibly postoperative after a facelift for about two weeks. After that, you may have a little bruising, swelling, or pinkness of incisions, but you can cover this with makeup and generally be presentable. You should still be careful about being in the sun, but this can be helped a lot by good sunscreen and a broad-brimmed hat. As for exercise, you should discuss with your surgeon as everyone has slightly different recommendations; I generally ask people to take about four weeks before doing cardio. As for problems after surgery, you should discuss that with your surgeon to ensure there is an appropriate plan in place based on your (or their) holiday plans.

Answer: Deep Plane Facelift Hi there! Deep plane facelifts can work very well for providing rejuvenation. Regarding the proximity to Christmas, that's a personal preference. You may not be presentable in terms of bruising so some would elect for after the holidays. In the event of a problem, you should still have access to your surgeon or a local ER if needed. You can be in the sun after a few days just making sure to limit exposure to short periods of time and avoid excessively cold environments. Finally, exercising shouldn't be performed for at least 3-4 weeks and then slowly returning to normalcy. Hope this is useful!

Answer: Activity after facelift surgery I tell my patients that they will have swelling after facelift surgery that will be noticeable for 2-4 weeks. They also typically have bruising for about 2 weeks after surgery as well. I prefer that my patients do not do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 2 weeks following surgery. After that, they can slowly increase their activity as they can tolerate. In regards to being in the sun, the most important thing is placing sunscreen on all of the incisions. This can help prevent pigmentation issues as the incisions heal.
