Is Kybella my best option 3 weeks prior to wedding?

I am getting married in 24 days and have had no luck with the improvement of my profile through weight loss. I am concerned about the swelling and hardness that can be experienced after Kybella. I was told that I did not qualify for cool sculpting as I do not have enough fat for that procedure. I am hoping I can do 1 vial of Kybella to reduce any side effects this close to my wedding.

1 vial of Kybella (~2ml) would leave you with swelling that could last between 4-6 weeks before you see a result. I would suggest not doing the Kybella nor Coolsculpting treatment right now. You might benefit from a little skin tightening with Forma though, which has no downtime or swelling effects.

I would not recommend Kybella before your wedding.  The swelling after the injections is real and can last 7 to 10 days.   It would be best to do ThermiSmooth to tighten the area until after the wedding when you can fully commit to Kybella without worrying about the side effects.Best of luck.  Enjoy your special day!

Hello pikaluvr, Thank you for your question and sharing your images.  WIth only 24 days, I would recommend against doing Kybella.  The swelling can be pronounced and last at least a week if not longer.  Also the results are not immediate and can take multiple sessions.  Other forms of nonsurgical fat reduction such as Sculpsure or Coolsculpt will take about 6 weeks before you would see results.   After your wedding, you may be a great candidate for a minimally invasive neck contouring procedure like  the ProfileLift that I offer in my practice.  I would recommend consultation with a facial plastic surgeon to discuss your options when you are ready.  Congratulations and enjoy the day!All my best!  Dr.  Elizabeth

It can take up to 6 weeks for final results with Kybella. Most people need more than one treatment with Kybella. Keep in mind, a combination approach would give the most improvement. Kybella, PDO Nova Threads, Ultherapy and/or ThermiRF treatments (Venus Legacy) are non-invasive options that would do well in combination for skin tightening. VASER with ThermiRF is a great alternative for contouring and tightening the chin and neck. See a cosmetic dermatologist for a long term treatment plan.

I think that a kybella treatment 3 weeks prior to your wedding is a very bad idea for two reasons.  Number one, you will have at least 2 weeks of inflammation and discomfort.  Number two, in order to be efficacious, kybella is a multi-treatment injection.  The typical treatment session involves two vials.  So the end result will be no visible result and possibly prolonged inflammation interfering with your major life event.  Good luck with your wedding!

I would advise against Kybella injections this close to your wedding date. The swelling and for Miss is unpredictable. At this point I would stay away from any treatments this close to your wedding date. Congratulations!

Thanks for the question! We do not recommend receiving a Kybella treatment 24 days before your wedding. One of the most common side effects of treatment is swelling, which can last 4-6 weeks or more. Best results are also seen over a series of treatments, making it not ideal to treat three weeks before your wedding. There are other treatment options available that can also help with neck tightening (such neuromodulators) that might be more suitable for your timeframe. Hi there-- Kybella is not an option. The swelling usually lasts at least a week but can take 2-3 to go completely away. The results from Kybella take months, and usually require 3-4 treatments, and occasionally more than that. Lastly, from those pictures, you have more loose skin than fat. Skin tightening with Infini Genius may be an option long term-- but that also takes months to see results and multiple treatments.
