Six months post op and my left side of boobs has dropped into a nice shape but the right side just wouldn't give in. My doctor said if after one year it gets worse, it will take a corrective surgery later down the road to cut open the muscle scar on the bottom of my right boob to make it "drop". He also gave me some muscle relaxer pill to take daily. Just wondering is this really my fate now? Is there any hope that the right one will eventually drop ? Any massage or pills that I can to facilitate that?
Answer: Breast Asymmetry Hello,This is not caused by muscle tension, so you do not have to take the a muscle relaxing pill. If there is a question of capsular contracture, there are no pills to take as well that have been shown to be effective. Similarly, implant massage exercises do not prevent or treat capsular contracture. This has been proven time and again, yet surgeons keep recommending it as though it is effective. At six months, you are ready to have a revision surgery. Go on a few second opinion consults with qualified surgeons: ABPS certified/ASAPS members.Best of luck.

Answer: Will the right one drop 6 months after breast augmentation? Hi Honeyblue,Thanks for your questions and photos. As much as you probably don't want to hear this, the short answer is that you will almost certainly need another procedure to adjust the right breast pocket and allow that implant to drop. After 6 months if there is (and I can see from the photos that you have a noticeable asymmetry) a continued difference in implant position, it will not change much, if at all without a surgical intervention. I would encourage you to have a frank conversation with your surgeon and explore your treatment options with them. Massage, muscle relaxers, and anything but a corrective procedure will be a waste of time. A second opinion from another board certified plastic surgeon in your area might be helpful as well.Best wishes!Dr. Brown

Answer: 6 months post op, one boob hasn't dropped. Any suggestions? Thank you for your question. It sounds as though you have a plan with your surgeon. Not knowing the details of your surgery restricts the advice U can provide. Speak with your surgeon there are massages and medications that can help. Best,

Answer: Right breast is unlikely to drop more After six months, the capsule around your implant is unlikely to change. The operation required to change it would require release of the lower portion of the capsule to allow it to drop. If your right breast is soft, it's possible that downward massage or a breast compression strap to allow it to drop a little; I'd consult with your plastic surgeon before beginning these modalities.Hope this helps - Sam Jejurikar, MD

Answer: 6 months post op, one boob hasn't dropped. Any suggestions? Thank you for your question and for sharing your photograph. By six months your right implant is unlikely to change significantly and a small revision procedure would be needed to allow the implant room to drop. Hope that this helps.
