10 weeks post op, left breast still hasn't dropped? (photos)

Question

My right breast dropped about 3 weeks ago and my left still hasn't. Should I start getting concerned? It's still soft and I've been massaging it 4-5 times a day trying to push the implant down. I still however can see no difference. My implants are 470cc ultra high profile silicone.

Thank you for your question and providing a photo. Based on the photos provided I do not believe you should worry. I tell all my patients it takes 4-5 months for implants to fully settle and all the swelling to resolve. Best of luck

Hello,I recommend that you wait until 6 months to assess results. It can take between 2-6 months for breast implants to settle and with large implants This is not unusual. Let your Plastic Surgeon know about any concerning changes.All the best

Thanks for the question. Its too early to talk about final results. In my practice, after performing a BA I recommend to my patients to limit the movement of the arms for two weeks. After that, you can move your arms taking care and always with common sense. In this regard, it's not advisable to carry heavy weights to prevent the implant out of position, and allow the formation of the physiological capsule around the implant, also to avoid pain and breast swelling.Kind regards, Dr. Emmanuel Mallol.-

Hello! Thank you for your question! You are still early post-procedure. Your appearance looks typical at this stage and will continue to improve as the swelling subsides and the implants continue to settle into their desired position. This usually proceeds over the next several weeks to months as the lower pole skin/breast stretches to accommodate the implants. Follow-up closely with your surgeon for additional restrictions/instructions and the potential use of bras/garments or massage that may encourage the implant to settle appropriately. If still displaced after this time, a surgical procedure may be necessary to further open the pocket and bring the implant(s) down or implant exchange/revision. Hope that this helps! Best wishes!

Thank you for your question and photographs.  You look to have obtained an excellent result from surgery and there is little asymmetry that can be appreciated in your pictures. Without preoperative photographs to compare to, any differences in breast implant height differences are likely from natural, preexisting asymmetries.  That said, it often takes 6 months or more to achieve your final result, so hang in there!

Patience is one of the most important factors in achieving the best 
results in cosmetic surgery. We all want to see the final result as 
early as possible. Unfortunately, the healing process is complicated and
 takes time. The surest way to get a poor result is to undergo revision 
surgery before your body is ready for additional surgery.Breast 
augmentations take about six months for the swelling to go down and the 
breasts to settle and assume their final size and shape. When we do a 
breast enlargement, surgeons try to center the implant behind the 
nipple. Minor position adjustments can be accomplished to account for 
the normal asymmetry that most women have. If the breasts are different 
sizes, saline implants can be adjusted to achieve better symmetry.Please
 wait until six months post op and then return to your original surgeon.
 Minor asymmetry is normal. Too vigorous surgical approaches may result 
in more expense, more scarring, and new complications.Good luck :)

It looks like you are healing well from the photos. Give it time, be patient, and continue to follow up with your surgeon. It can sometimes take months before the swelling resolves fully and implants are completely accommodated by the breast tissue, especially an an ultra-high profile implant.
