Love the very friendly helpful staff , made me feel relaxed and comfortable. Office was very nice and extremely clean . Was very comfortable the whole time and extremely happy with my results after the procedure, would refer anyone to them .
I am so excited about the results that I have seen so far. the strawberry laser has really improved my shape in just 8 sessions. I have lost over 25inches in my abdominal area.. I have gone down 2 pants sizes. all in just 2 months. I cant wait to buy another package so I can continue getting slimmer! lipo spa is the best place to go if you are looking to improve your body.. the staff in the latham office is the best. cant ask for a friendlier group of girls!
I cannot thank the staff at Skinlaze enough for what that have done. They are all very knowledgeable and know their stuff. I made an appt. for Ultherapy after reading some reviews and seeing before and after photos. Erin did the procedure on me approximately 5 months ago and I am hooked! It has made such a dramatic difference in my appearance, I am quite pleased with the results. My experience was great, Erin made me feel comfortable and to be honest with you, after reading some reviews I was a little nervous that it would be very painful. Absolutely not!! It can be a little uncomfortable but it is certainly tolerable. I had my neck done and now at 5 months I went back and had the Ultherapy on my upper lip and laugh lines. I am very happy with the results and would recommend this to anyone looking to "tighten and lift" the sagging skin. It worked for me and I will keep going back for more. Thank you SKINLAZE and Erin, you guys are awesome!
I first found SkinLaze through Groupon, the Spa has a great staff overall and great discounts. I've never been in to see Wendy or Erin and not spent LESS than anticipated because they are always finding me ways to save money on products and services. Comfortable, quick, easy and no worries before or after. Thanks!
I'm 44 yo and have been thinking about various laser and skin treatments for several years. I read about Ultherapy and it seemed like it might be a viable option for me. I researched a few providers in Central NY and found that Dr Halliday and his staff seemed to be the most experienced. I went for a consultation and the staff answered my questions in detail. In addition to the Ultherapy, they recommended that I also consider some peels and skincare products to help with the fine lines and sun damage that also bothered me. Long story short- I decided to go for it. The treatment itself was about 2 hours and while it did sting quite a bit in some areas (around my eyes, my neck), it was definitely doable. I've been back since for some peels and I've been using their products at home. I've seen a tightening and lifting on my jawline and my cheeks. I've also noticed a difference in my skin... more smooth and refreshed. My husband and friends have also noticed which makes me happy.
I honestly dont even know where to start because my whole body was completely destroyed from Dr. Hallidays negligence from his old med spa. Lipo spa or skin laze... who knows because this man changed names frequently. I developed Paradoxical Adipose Hyperplasia (PAH), a side effect from the Coolsculpting procedure I had years ago in 2017, just before my life began to change. Coolsculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that most men and women choose because of the astounding final results. Coolsculpting uses cooling to damage and destroy subcutaneous fat cells, without damaging the skin to reduce the amount of fat in the treated area.To destroy fat cells and never worry about eventually being over weight....if in your budget, why wouldn’t you try it? However, non-invasive....[RS bleep]! I was never told about the possible side effects, just a glorious outcome. They advertise the procedure as life changing....I should say so....it will change your life as you know it and not only breakdown fat, but break you down as a person. After thousands of people who elected to pay for the coolsculpting procedure suffered from the aftermath of PAH, it is still being advertised as a glamorous option to remain fit. How is such a procedure still FDA cleared? I am disgusted and will forever do whatever I can to let people know about PAH as a result of Coolsculpting. So now I figured out what I was suffering from, now it was time to research what can be done about it? How was I going to be able to regain my confidence and get my life back? Was it even possible to get my body back to normal? The answer was yes and no. I would need to have reconstructive surgery to remove the PAH caused by the Coolsculpting. Also, one surgery might not even work and you could possibly need more than 1 surgery or 2 or 3 and so on. When i went to my appointment with Halliday he was not empathetic at all! He never even apologized to me for what i lived with for years. I lost my whole life and was living with the unknown due to their negligence and not following protocol that they were supposed to follow from the manufacturer but then again this doesn't surprise me. I was never told about PAH they just simply shoved the papers in my face to sign. If i knew or was warned dont you think i would have known what was really going on with my body? Absolutely! Instead i lived years with a massive stomach looking like I was pregnant with triplets. I was begging doctors and various specialists for help and they all dismissed me by saying i was overweight and obese and should consider gastric bypass. I had a colonoscopy at such a young age, i had so many sonograms internal and external and they all showed nothing. To have every doctor look at you like you're crazy and to shove medications down your throat was awful!!! When I finally figure out what was wrong with me by super model Linda Evangelista coming forward on the news, I then knew that i had to find Hallidays new office because the old med spa called lipo spa and skinlaze were both closed down. Shocker. I had to find him myself. Since the very first call until my appointment with his office it was horrible!!! He told me I gained weight and was simply dismissing everything that I was saying to him. The funniest part is that his machine ruined my body and did the adverse affect on my body and he had the nerve to offer me a "discount rate" for him to perform liposuction through his practice. A discount?! Not even my money back for Coolscuplting but he felt i needed to pay him to correct my body that his Esthetician destroyed? Absolutely not. That was an insult. Also that man was not touching my body! You need a skillful surgeon who knows how to treat PAH and DrZ Halliday doesn't have a clue. Also, regular lipo does NOT work with getting these hard masses out of your body. You need Vaser lipo but again he is not smart just like the manufacturer is not. I did not consent to getting my body sliced up, I did not consent to losing my job since 2018, I did not consent to losing my mental state due to this, I did NOT consent to being deathly sick for years and I didn't consent to this taking my ability to be a mother to my children! The list goes on and on. What that consent form states is completely false to what myself and 100's of others have dealt with, so therefore their consent form is a false consent form. Dr. Hallidays office also did not have my whole file on hand. Not one before or after photo. Not the model of the applicators that were used on my stomach not even my name and address or anything else. I was given 6 lonely pieces of paper and was told that this is all they had. I eventually found out an old employee stole their iPad and they never reported it. His whole office is absolutely awful. All they are is money hungry. My reconstructive surgery that i needed performed was $42,500. This included an extended tummy tuck, lipo 360 and my muscles needed to be repaired because of how big my body got due to PAH. I did NOT consent to ANY of this. The manufacturer Allergan/ Zelitiq also refused to pay for my surgery and after care expenses and loss of wages and the overall loss of my life. They only offered me $10,000 for my silence. Obviously I refused because that was just another punch in the face. This medical device not only ruined my body, it also ruined my mental state to the point where I couldn't leave my house due to the shame and disfigurements to my body. Someone needs to stop these people and I do not recommend this man to touch anyone... I will keep telling my story because this man is walking around living life lavishly as he destroyed mine not only physically but also mentally. Five years of my life ruined and this man thinks its ok? Absolutely not! If this was his daughter or wife or anyone he loved he wouldn't turn his cheek but to me he dismissed everything that happened to me. What an awful person. I will never stop telling my story especially about his office and Zelitiq/ Allergan as well until i get what I deserve! Updated on 27 Jan 2023: My life got turned upside down because of their gross inability to diagnose a basic side effect and other members of the medical community don’t know about it either. They tried to pay out 10k when obviously I needed major reconstructive surgery to correct damage done by their medical device. Is this a way to treat people? Women? Consumers spending big dollars? They say they will pay for your surgery and they fight you left and right treating you awful. I lost everything—kids, job, partner and life—due to the inability of CS minions to meet basic expectations AVOID Updated on 15 Jun 2024: Still no justice for what his office did to me! Still no justice with the manufacturer!! My life is back but my mental state will forever be affected. As long as their pockets are fillled that's all they care about... the fda, Allergan, Zeltique, abbvie and so many more need to be held accountable... judges as well are in the pockets of this huge company and its disgusting!
I had my lifestyle lift on May 8, 2008. I also had upper eyelid blephoroplasty (removal of extra skin to eliminate saggy eyelids-covered by insurance) and lower eye blephoroplasty with laser to tighten up baggy skin around eyes. After a few years of considering this type of procedure I finally went through with it. I was worried about it and kept looking in the mirror and thinking that if I did not do it my face would only get baggier etc. I just turned 60, and I do not smoke, drink or worship the sun other than doing some outdoor activities like swimming, hiking, boating. gardening etc. I have tried to wear a hat or visor for several years to protect my face since too much sun eventually leatherizes the skin. I was told that I did not look my age many times before this but I still did not like where my face was headed and thought if I did this only once it would make the ageing process more graceful for me the rest of my life. I just turned 60 the end of April. I went to a promotion at my doctor's office a week before my surgery and several women were there who had recently had the surgery. They all had their little pink battle scars by their ears but most wore short fluffy hairstyles that covered them up. I wear my hair almost shoulder length and like to wear it up, French twist, but mostly down. A few of these women had the eye procedure also. They all looked really good but I did not see their before photos. Anyway, for my surgery, I put my hair in a ponytail but the nurse still shaved in front of my ear and about an inch away behind my ear. This was a surprise and will take about a year to grow in again and I cannot imagine how it will look if I try to pull it back this summer with 1-2 inch long pieces growing out and not reaching my pony tail etc. I did feel pain during the surgery and I even said "Am I supposed to feel this?" and the doctor said to give me more Versaid. I think I was feeling the laser around my eye. The first night was hard - I slept in a recliner with a neck rest like you use for travel - very useful - and pillows. I tried to avoid the drug with codeine because that will cause constipation. So, I took Ultracet a couple of times and then switched to Ex Str Tylenol which does the job. I try not to take anything unless it registers about a 7 on my discomfort scale. It is Friday after my surgery now and yes, I do have pain behind my ears - my incision is longer and extends about 1 inch into my hairline so that he could lift more of my neck. I also have pain in my eyes mostly where the redness is from the laser - very tender there. I have to put ointment on all the time, Ice often and clean with cotton all of my scars starting today. I could have washed my hair today but decided just to take a bath and put the hair off till the weekend. I am still keeping it in a pony tail and have the ace wrap around my chin with some gauze pads over my ears, under it. I cannot imagine going out in public without BIG dark glasses that do not rest against the tender area or some kind of head scarf that covers my ears. Even then I hope no one will notice me. I must say that my chin looks great though. My eyes are still swollen and red so it is hard to tell but I think the bags are gone under them - just a lot of redness from the laser right now. I get my sutures out next Weds and return to work next Thursday and Friday for a half day each. I may have to wear dark glasses at work and a scarf but we shall see. My husband has been great - getting ice packs for me, drinks, pillows etc. You really need someone the first few days. I did a load of laundry today but am spending most of my time in a recliner. I got books on tape from the library or TV - it is hard to read for too long. Chewing is a problem so I have smoothies with fruit and yogurt, cottage cheese, omelet, soft cooked veggies.I had a bran muffin but had to break of tiny crumbs and ate a tuna sandwich with tiny baby bites. There is just pain and stiffness if I open my jaw too much so I do not want to do that yet. I will add more later on but that is it for my second day post-op. It can only get better !!! Updated on 19 May 2008: Today is May 19 , 2008 and my surgery was May 7, not May 8 as listed above. Anyway, I am feeling more like my old self now starting on about May 14 after I had my stitches and staples out. Aftercare - I wear the chin strap - ace wrap- at night and still sleep on 2 pillows. I still use Aquaphor (new best friend) around my eye area where laser was done, and on my scars applying with a Qtip.I sometimes tie a cotton bandana folded about 3 inches wide placed under my chin and tied on top of my head when I am just around the house. This is more comfortable than the Ace and sometimes I wear nothing for periods of time during the day or when I am at work. Glasses do bother above my ears so I am wearing old stretched out ones if I wear them for very long. I am not to do any heavy upper body lifting or upper body strenuous exercises for another week or two due to possibly straining the neck and facial muscles. I normally swim laps with goggles but am not sure I want goggles pressing on my newly done eyes this summer. I may just do water aerobics instead. Appearance - My eyes are healing well - pinkness is fading out from the laser around my lower eyes which was the most painful part of the whole experience. My face lift scars are very fine and run from my temple along my ear line and under the ear lobe and behind and then a short way into my hair - about 1 inch. My scars are longer than many I have seen at the seminar at my Dr. office, because I am older and there was more to lift, I think. I am 60. But my saggy neck area and chin are firm and tight making my profile nicer again and I am happy with the results so far at 12 days post op. I still wear dark glasses when I go out to protect my eye area and am very careful combing my hair not to touch the scars which are tender. My best friend saw me today and studied me carefully and said I look rested and refreshed and good. I have taken pictures all along and it is good to have my own set of Before and After to compare. If I am out of my strap for too long, my face starts to feel tight so I wrap it again and even put the ice packs back on each evening for a while. I just want this to last as long as possible. As far as how long it lasts, my doctor said the average amount of skin they remove from the cheek area is over an inch. So, you are that much ahead of the aging process. Of course you will continue to age and your skin will continue to sag as you grow older each year, but this definitely turns back the clock and I think it will help me age further more gracefully and be happier with my appearance.
With the proper Coolsculpting applicator, placed on the proper area that you were targeting, you should still expect results in that specific area. Eating sugar and fatty foods, will of course have a negative affect on your body over time if you consume more in calories than your body generally burns each day. At our Lipo Spa centers, as a Certified Coolsculpting provider, we give our clients guidance on maintaining a healthy lifestyle so that the fat cells in the area remaining AFTER your treatment don't become problematic in the future. We also provide detox treatments and specially formulated supplements to help your body "get rid of" and "flush" dead cells via lymphatic drainage. In the end, it's all about "balance". A little sweet here and there is not going to harm your physique as long as you stay active, burn at least as many calories as you take in each day and give your body lots of water and rest. Best of luck with your body sculpting goals.
Hi D.T.- great question. Sounds like you suffer from frequent ingrown hairs. Laser hair removal (with the right laser wavelength, correct spot size and adjusted energy settings) can be very effective in reducing hair growth over time and thus reducing the problem of ingrown hair. As for treatment and ingrown hairs... your licensed aesthetician or laser technician should be able to help extract the ingrown hairs that you have at the time of treatment in addition to providing you with laser services. Most clients require ~8 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart on the bikini area due to the hair growth cycle on the lower part of your body. Hope that helps, Dr. Halliday
Thanks for your question Punitha- Get a 2nd opinion at an experienced clinic near you. The hair cycle on your face is every 4-6 weeks and your underarms every 6-8 weeks. Treatments spaced any closer is a waist of time and money as your body has natural hair cycles and the laser treatments need to be timed to effectively target the hair roots during their growth phase. From your name, I'm going to guess that you may have a skin type IV or higher which means that the ideal wavelength for you would be 1064nm. An experienced laser technician will use this wavelength and adjust the "spot size" and "fluence or energy settings" on the laser to get you results over time. You should expect 8-12 treatments with this wavelength and it's possible that you will need periodic "touch up" treatments after that depending on your genetics, hormones, etc. Best of luck, Dr. Halliday
Becca- thanks for your question and for your photographs. From your pics, I honestly don't see signs of aging other than the "normal" progression that everyone experiences. For around your eyes, I'd recommend trying a medical grade eye cream... we've tried a lot and the best one we've come across so far is LUMIÈRE Bio-restorative Eye Cream. If you're concerned about your "smile lines" getting too deep/ noticeable, you can soften those with filler injectables. If you want to learn more about that, visit at least 3 facial plastic surgery physicians to get their in-person advice and a price quote. Injections like this can run ~$500 or so and typically last 6 months or so (depending on the compound chosen). For "overall" skin health, the top two things that are "easy" and "affordable" are chemical peels and hydrafacials. Please choose an experienced provider to get advice about these as well. Lastly, know this- you're naturally beautiful and you don't need to stress over being perfect at such a young age ;-) Hope that helps, Dr. Halliday
Katie- thanks for your question. The YAG is a 1064nm wavelength and is best for darker skin types. From your description, you would benefit most from treatments with an ALEX (or Alexandrite) 755nm wavelength which is best for lighter skin types with dark hair. You didn't mention what body area(s) you are treating which makes a difference too. Another important factor for effective treatments is treatment interval (time between your laser hair removal treatments). If you're treating your face you should have Tx every 4-6 weeks. If anywhere on your body, you should have treatments every 6-8 weeks. The last factor is the energy settings and "spot size" used by your practitioner. An experienced laser technician will adjust the power and spot size to appropriately treat and adjust treatment as you're going in for treatments over time. So... in summary, wavelength, treatment interval, power settings and spot size all play a factor in effective treatments. Hope this help to clarify things for you. Best of luck, Dr. Halliday
