I had juvaderm in my lips yesterday morning. I have had a half done before and wanted the same. She put in more than I wanted. Now my upper lip is extremely swollen. I look like a duck, it's terrible. I have a massive bruise that goes all the way up to my nose. I have taken Advil and been icing but nothing helps. The doctors office isn't open today and I have to go out of town tomorrow for 3 days for business. I am embarrassed by my face and very upset.

Answer: Lip filler Thank you for your question and photo. I'm sorry to hear that you were not happy with you results but swelling can take 1-2 weeks to go down therefore it is quite normal to be swollen 1 day post injection. Cold compress will certainly help with any swelling and bruising in the early post op period so keep doing what you're doing. You do have the option of dissolving the filler if you need to reduce the volume of your lips immediately however you may want to wait a few days to see how things start to settle on their own. Hope this is helpful. James Lee

Answer: Lip swollen and bruised after Juvederm injection Thank you for asking your question and posting your photo. Sorry to see the swelling and bruising you have following injection of Juvederm. Some patients and doctors believe that taking Arnica for a few days before the injection of fillers and after treatment might diminish swelling and bruising. Cold compresses are usually beneficial in the early stages of swelling and bruising. There are special techniques that an experienced doctor can use to decrease bruising, but the degree of swelling is probably more related to volume of product injected.Good luck,
