Hi doctors! First of all thank you so much for spending your time to reply to me. I had my breast augmented on June 2023. It is now Nov 2024, so it has been almost 1.5 years post surgery. I have noticed that my scar for one side looks really red and raised. Is it infected ? It doesn't look normal to me. It kind of hurts when I press on it. I will be making an appointment with my plastic surgeon, but thought I'd ask here first. Please advise. Thank you

Answer: Scar Dear c520, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. lllll

Answer: Raised scar Based on your photos, it does not appear to be an infection. You have developed keloid scars that could improve with steroid of 5FU injections from your plastic surgeon. Best of luck!

Answer: Raised scar Hi. You have a hypertrophic scar. It should get better with a steroid injection. If that doesn't help, then there are other options too, but I would start with steroids. Talk to your plastic surgeon about this and hopefully it will get better very soon!
