Hi, I’m 42, had breast aug 6 months ago, it looks good, no issues but I can’t get used to it. Still feel discomfort. Back pain sometimes and when close to my period it gets very uncomfortable. Will it ever feel normal? Any tips?
Answer: Breast Augmentation Hi rsampaio, It can take patients up to 12 months post operatively to fully heal and for the nerves to regenerate. Due to this healing timeline, some patients do not feel fully back to normal or like their breasts are their own until this time period. The back pain can be multifactorial and therefore is hard to pinpoint the cause, however it could have been related to your activity and arm restrictions following surgery and should hopefully improve. Breast discomfort around your menstrual cycle is common and patients can have increased sensitivity following the breast augmentation procedure as well due to increased nerve sensitivity and awareness. I would recommend seeing your surgeon as well to re-evaluate and get their opinion. Hope this helps!

Answer: Surgery Many women have discomfort close to their period and it is related to breast tissue that responds to hormones. This settles down with menopause. Take aspiring or Motrin prior to your cycle to help calm things down. Back pain can be caused by a variety of issues. Hopefully your implants are not too large and heavy for your frame and tissue.

Answer: Discomfort after BA Dear rsampaio, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Discomfort Discomfort at that stage is typically minor. If you are having frequent pain I encourage you to speak to your surgeon. Back pain may indicate that the implants are too large/heavy for you. Menstrual discomfort can often be eased through medication.

Answer: Dr Paweł Szychta Discomfort at 6 months post-op can be due to residual healing, implant size, posture issues, or hormonal sensitivity. It usually improves by 12 months, but persistent back pain or discomfort may need evaluation. Use supportive bras, work on posture, and consult your surgeon if it continues.
