Is it normal to have constant nerve pain/burning/stinging sensation under scar?

Burning pain is an indicator of nerve involvement. It may be that the nerves are healing after your surgery. If so, then it should improve as time goes on. If it is constant and not improving it may be a trapped nerve. Visit with your surgeon for an evaluation.

Hi and welcome to our forum!Abnormal sensation of the lower abdomen is common following abdominoplasty. Small cutaneous nerves may be divided during the procedure or trapped in scar after the procedure, resulting in areas of numbness or hypersensitivity. This discomfort usually subsides over time. If the pain is more than an annoyance, one may consider the use of ultrasound and radiofrequency therapy to desensitize the area. You may wish to speak with your plastic surgeon about this problem if it is significant.Best wishes...
