I will be getting a mommy makeover in two months. Will I be able to ride in a car 2 days after surgery for three hours back home? Is it dangerous?
Answer: Will I be able to ride in a car two days after surgery? Yes but it may not be comfortable and make sure you get out of the car every hour just to walk around for a bit...this will help lower your risk for forming blood clots after surgery. You may also want to ask your operating surgeon about the use of compression stockings and/or anticoagulants if you are at higher risk (i.e. smoker, on birth control, h/o clotting disorders, etc.) for developing blood clots. Good luck!

Answer: Mommy Makeover Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can fly within 2-4 weeks after mommy makeover operation. I wish you all the best.

Answer: Driving two days after surgery You should be okay to do this if you're getting anything but a brazilian butt lift. However please take frequent breaks to reduce the risk of blood clots. Always listen to your surgeon's advice.

Answer: Precautions after tummy tuck After a tummy tuck, it is best to stay close to the surgeon for the first day after surgery. At that point you can travel home, but must be careful. There are specific issues you need to address with the surgeon regarding blood clots in the legs during long car rides.

Answer: Ride in car Please ask your surgeon this question. For most patients, a 3 hour ride soon after surgery is safe, but not always comfortable. I would recommend postponing the ride if possible.

Answer: Driving in car Post-Operatively Yes, this is fine. I have many patients that travel from out-of-town that will drive in car. However, you may have some discomfort and I highly suggest getting out of the car ever hour or so to walk around get some blood flow in your legs. I would also suggest using compression stockings to help with the development of possible blood clots. Definitely speak to your surgeon regarding your traveling plans prior to your surgical procedure. Best of Luck to you!
