Why am I getting acne two weeks post op mommy makeover?

Your irregular period suggests that your hormones are responsible for your acne breakout. This is extremely common due to the physiologic stress of surgery.  I would recommend topical treatments such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid for the temporary breakout. 

The physiologic stress of a mommy makeover can induce metabolic changes that can alter metabolic processes. Acne is occasionally reported. It is self-limited. Changes in menstrual cycle are fairly common.

Yes this is annoying. The stress of the procedures, anesthesia and recovery have most likely caused a hormonal imbalance resulting in acne.  It best to see if your plastic surgeon or dermatologist can help remedy this for you.

It can be very frustrating to have acne, especially as an adult.  My guess is that your recent outbreak is due to stress.  However, if it persists, I would be seen by a dermatologist.

Thanks for your question.Congratulations on your surgical procedure.  Right now you are still very much in the early phase of healing and your body is still getting over the duration of anesthesia and the stress of surgery.  These issues can create changes in the skin complexion and occasionally I have heard of patients having mild break outs during this time.  In my opinion this should improve as your body gets back to "normal".  Make sure to follow up with your plastic surgeon to discuss your concerns.  I work very closely with the dermatologists in my community and often we will work together to get a patients skin looking healthy post-surgery.I hope this is helpful to you.Best Wishes

Since you are still in the healing phase, your body could be reacting to the stress of surgery.  Address this concern with your surgeon as he may want to refer you to a Dermatologist for an evaluation.
